Chernobyl also created a huge natural park and preserve. And measurably advanced medical knowledge of radiation sickness.

Can't make an omelet...

Fracking oil and gas......

Huge money-maker in some parts of the country.

Other than jobs and movement of money - it's been a tremendous boon to the Government jurisdictions in helping feed their insatiable appetite for taxing private industry, and in the case of fracking, the primary beneficiary of royalties and licensing/granting access to their (Govt's) property.

Its interesting over here, we have had a decade of greenies running our parks with a lock them up & leave them approach. All that happens is we have ended up with vast areas over run with weeds & wild fires every few years. before this cattle were used to graze the parks for fuel reduction. The greenies got rid of them, preferring to see the forests burn.
Primary industry sometimes is the better form of conservation.

I think if we’re going to sum -up all the disadvantages it would be enough to destroy our own existence.

Truly industries brings a lot of benefits to a community mostly because its generate income .However, since we all know its advantages that might possibly bring then starting now we must think and implement ways on how to minimize its advantages.

A Hydro-field cuts through my neighborhood
Somehow that always just made me feel good
I can put a spare bulb in my hand
And light up my yard

Late at night when the wires in the walls
Sing in tune with the din of the falls
I'm conducting it all while I sleep
To light this whole town

If you question what I would do
To get over and be with you
Lift you up over everything
To light up my room

There's a shopping cart in the ravine
The foam on the creek is like pop
And ice cream
A field full of tires that is always on fire
To light my way home

There are luxuries we can't afford
But in our house we never get bored
Cuz we can dance to the radio station
Plays in our teeth

If you question what I would do
To get over and be with you
Lift you up over everything
To light up my room, my room
