Come to FL. I lived in Davenport, 30 minutes from Lakeland and it wasn't bad. Polk county is rather "country".

I now live in Windermere which I prefer over poke county.

Once you start going to central OR southern Florida in the wintertime, it's easy to get addicted to going back, IMO.

Just "2 months" you mentioned may not be enough of the winter - but if you have obligations to return to Michigan, that's understandable.

I really enjoyed my time down there during the wintertime that I've travelled it on business and pleasure.

Well, I might buy a property in Florida, but would like something where nI could wrench too.

The ideal would be a building near or in a town
with the second floor as a place to live and the first floor as a place to wrench, like a 30 x 30 or larger building with a second floor for habitation.

So start looking guys.

If the two of you restore a couple of those french c2vs or whatever their designation is the price of elastic bands will rise for the rest of us.

Although in it's time it was a good ideal to use them as the bottom and backs of the seats. I only rode in one once and it was pretty new.

I have re-engineered the seats and added additional comfort and safety features to my personal vehicles, plus an ejection seat.

As I have gotten older, wiser and heavier, the rubber bands are not such a good idea!

I drove one all over europe in the early 70's. Got cut off outside of Paris and drove it into a light pole and skee-daddled with our backpacks. Thank goodness we wrecked it OUTside of Pair-ee. We'd a been kilt for sure had we driven any further into that black hole.

I have lived in Orlando, it was ok, weather-wise. Sarasota might be good, so might Hudson, near Tampa. Not being a Forida resident, not being able to carry a piece makes me feel a little less secure.

Am being offered a 40 acre farm in Michigan with a 1200 sq ft house and 10,000 sq foot barn for 50,000. But don't want to have too much stuff and discover squatters if I come up unexpectedly.

Ideal setting would be something with maybe an acre near or outside of a little town.

Imagine a two story building surrounded by a fence.

First floor: lots of room for wrenching and tools

Second floor: living quarters.
