WOW, I am impressed

Had the opportunity to swing by MB Autowerks today. The place looks great in real life. Actually, I was bored last night and took a little drive - somehow I ended up passing by the shop .

I took a rather winding route to get there, found out I could have turned two light up from my Motel and hung a right, would have taken me straight to the shop.

Any way, I ended up spending about 2 hours shooting the breeze with Webmaster Bill, got the grand tour of the shop and got to meet Benzmac AND see the "project". Even though I had my digital camera I did not take a single picture. After see the CLK/Kleeman project I couldn't bring myself to snap a picture. Since there is a documentation of the job being done, I didn't want to spoil anything with "spy" photos. I can tell you it is one beautiful Silver CLK 55.

The thing that really stood out on this car was there wasn't a speck of dirt or grime in the engine bay. I'm sure that is mostly due to it having a mere 3K miles on it. This is a major project, to the point there is a Kleeman rep (or tech) on hand.

I'm not sure which impressed me more, the shop or the project.

The shop is absolutely beautiful. One would die to have a place like this to work in. Bill and Donnie have a good thing going. Even though they only just opened the doors for business, there were four cars in the bays. The shop might be a little removed from town, but I saw a lot of MB service shops around Atlanta, and not a one looked near as nice as Autowerks. Once the word is out, I have the feeling they will have more work than they ever expected.

I may not make the MercedesShop/MB Autowerks get together, but at least I got to see the place in person. Thanks for the complete tour Bill.

I'd like to think we are all responsible, and a part of the Autowerks .

Thanks for coming by, Mike! It was great to meet you and it's always a joy to tour our MercedesShop brethren around MB Autowerks.

Donnie is neck-deep in his supercar project. Here's a link to the latest status:

Mike:

I live in Murrieta, Ca. Your sister city. When I saw your post about how cool Autowerks looks I said to myself,"Well shoot, maybe I'll "swing by" there too." Imagine my surprize to discover Autowerks is in Georgia!!

Wassup with that? Am I missing something?

Benzima,

Yup, I live in Temecula, just here in Atlanta for a few days conducting interviews. Since Autowerks is sooooo close I just had to stop by and see the place first hand.

What your are "missing", is all the build up of this site and Autowerks. You've found what is most likely the best MB site on the Net. Anything and everything you'd ever want to know about your car can be found out right here.
