Nissa versa

I am still looking for a different car for the mrs. The Nissan versa has a really high roofline for a sedan with fair gas mileage. Anybody have one? What is the rep for quality, mpg and so forth?

Why is a high roofline a GOOD thing? Too many cars look like piggy SUV's these days!

Its not important to me but the mrs. likes it. Getting in most cars is hard on her back....so you know, since its her car and her money, I just try to find what she wants.

We rented one and drove it through the Sandy blizzard in West Virginia. It did OK considering the shopping cart wheels it came with. It was roomy and quiet enough - seems like good A to B transportation.

Ugh, those things are chintzy.

Why don't you look at a Prius or something with better build quality than a Nissan??

My son had one. He bought it right after they came out and put something like 200,000 miles on it. Generally reliable. Lots of hard plastic--no disguising that it is an entry class vehicle, but roomy and efficient. His prime consideration for any car is, " Can it fit both tubas and at least one passenger. The Versa fit the bill.

A Prius costs roughly 235 % as much as a Versa.

I think they are really ugly, and they seem to be high on the list of the worst cars they have driven for many people.

The Prius C starts at $19080. And as for the Versa, I rode in one once and it was one of the worst vehicles I have ever been in. The interior was falling apart (it wasn't very old at that point), the ride was extremely uncomfortable as were the seats. I can't comment on reliability but if the quality of the interior and ride is any indication, it probably isn't very reliable. They are also not very safe.

Well, its a small front drive hatchback. They truthfully all seem to drive about the same. As for the Prius, for the big one it is nearly double the cost of a versa.

Scion xB? The cab companies around here love them. I've ridden in several. Easy access, tall inside. Ride quality seems ok but not great.

The easy way out for me is to buy her the best pt I can find. They really are crappy though and I shudder when I think of it.
