Like the majority of others on this planet I consider myself a decently good driver. I use my turn signals and I can park pretty much anywhere in one attempt, while driving any non-articulated vehicle I've ever driven.

One of my pet peeves is people who don't know how to park. Whether it's parking over the lines, parking diagonally in a space or not having any clue whether you are pulled far enough in the space or too far, poor parking drives me nuts.

And then there is the group of people who take two centuries to get in/out of a space, often using the 965-point turn method to maneuver themselves around other stationary vehicles.

I eat a paleo diet (no legumes, no gluten, no grains, little fruit and nothing processed) so I end up frequenting health food stores, local markets, organic markets and WholePaycheck (also known as WholeFoods) to get my groceries. Many of of those places I get stared at by the vegan employees when I bring several pounds of meat, animal bits and bacon to checkout.

I've noticed that the percentage of incompetent drivers is exponentially greater at those stores than anywhere else. Yes, the parking lot is usually full of Prius's and yes Birkenstocks and not washing your hair is the norm. But there are quite a few BMWs and Jags in the lot as well.

I have to wonder, is the lack of consumption of a certain animal protein or care for the environment directly correlated to the inability to drive?

I always thought it had to do with chromosomes...

I've noticed that trend among enormous overly-extravagant and expensive luxury SUVS (GL class Mercs, the huge and ugly Infinitis, Lexuses, etc). Worst is many of these folks also seem to have an expectation of entitlement when they park too. They'll run over curbs, hit other cars, park across spots, while cursing and swearing at others who do the same. At least the guys who drive Bentleys and Porsches are usually very well aware of their surroundings and cars, typically they're not a problem.

No.

Obviously, you haven't noticed the capability of the drivers who frequent McDonalds.

It's pretty much a certainty that the "average" driver doesn't drive the vehicle at all. They simply manipulate the controls to get it from point A to point B. They are tentative at stop lights and parking lots and they are far too fast and reckless once the vehicle is in motion on the roadway, preferring to drive at +15 whether in a 30 mph limit or a 55 mph limit. They don't understand what a turn signal does and they are unable to maintain a constant speed on the highway and they love to use the right lane for passing because they believe they are less likely to be ticketed. They yap away on their cell phones incessantly while completely oblivious to the traffic around them.

They are everywhere, and it makes driving with them an unbelievable challenge at times.

It's got nothing to do with the food they consume. It has to do with their intelligence, or lack of it.

hmm,,

The Bavarians make BMWs and they definitely love to drive, most of their designs are "make a car around this suspension setup" - you might be onto something here

I drive highway pretty much everyday. (3 lane highway) Nothing pisses me off more than people passing on the right. ESPECIALLY when the left most lane is empty!

Normally, I do 70-75 in the middle lane. Semi truck traffic does 70 or close to in the right lane. Then some idiot is behind me and thinks its a great idea to pass me on the right, when a semi truck is not too far from us and that left most lane (aka passing lane) is empty.

A few weeks ago, there were three cars in them middle lane. White Japanese car, me then a new-ish black BMW 7 series. I broke left into the passing lane to pass the white car..The BMW broke into the right lane to pass us all. I was merging back in to the middle lane after passing the white car...and guess who was doing the same!

Asian girl (isn't it always?) with mega-thick glasses bouncing her BMW in and out of a space about 3' longer than the car in front of my building. I honked and asked her "if you're gonna keep bouncing in and out of the space and not park already, can I have it?" She gave the monodigital salute, which I politely returned. I found another space. When I came back home, the BreakMyWallet was still there, "parked" at approximately a 15 degree angle to traffic, 2' away from the curb.

Hope that a brownie walked by and gave her a nice expensive award for "best parker."

You are on a car forum and you tell us you damaged another persons car out of spite? You should be banned for life.

I think you misread-he flipped her off. The brownie comment I'm assuming is the parking police in the area based on their uniforms probably. The blue devils around here love to get you on technicalities.

Yes I concur. I read nothing that indicated he damaged her BMW.

Technically, I just returned her "salute." Yep, brownie is a parking cop, though they now have blue uniforms and white hats. No damage to her car, other than what she'll no doubt cause herself through ineptitude.

what pisses me off is seems like nowadays whoever paints the lines for these parking spots.must drive and use a smart car for a template.i was in a target parking lot about a month ago with my suburban.after i got parked and out of the unit i had maybe 2 inches of room on each side.and this was on the ground,i'm not counting the mirrors that stick out 8 inches on each side.
