Adventures in Cooking, Stroke Recovery Patient Edition

Me: absent-minded grab of counter sponge, quick splash of hot water from faucet, apply said sponge to finest of 1990's vintage Formica counter top that is our kitchen.

Sponge: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE the bloody hell WWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Me: WTF?!? Flips sponge over to find enough butter embedded in said sponge to make a butter sculpture worthy of entry in the Kansas State Fair.

Me: "Ed? Any clues?"

Ed: "I spilled a little bit of the butter when I made my egg at lunch."

Me: commence discreet beating of head against aforementioned Formica.

Better to die of a heart attack than a stroke??

I put a new formica countertop in our kitchen about 5 yrs ago. Replaced a lime green one. About $5k cheaper than granite. Food tastes just as good prepared on formica.

Stroke patient kitchen issues sounds a lot like teenaged boy kitchen issues...

I have a son that thinks only the inside of pots and pans need washed...with soap and HOT water...every so often. He can't wrap his head around the idea that they nest, and that the nastiness on the outside of one pan mingles with the nastiness he leaves inside the other pan. My wife has given up trying to get him to understand cleanliness, and she and my daughter handle the job now...

I think that was somewhat intelligent of him, he gets out of doing dishes.

All y'all miscreants have caused me to lose my appetite for breakfast, which would have been the daily dose of toxic shock coffee & cold pop tarts

Oh I still love Ed. And I was laughing while I was beating my head on the counter. And I'll take half a stick of butter on the sponge over projectile vomited Indian food EVERY time.

How's the appetite now Jim B?
