A new companion for my 300D!

Bought this 1986 Peugeot 505 turbo, 5 speed! Comfy seats, smooth ride, decent performance and reasonable price! So far I like it!

WOW....so hard to find a nice Pug anymore... I drove a mint 1981 505 turbo diesel with a 5 spd during the mid 90s. That car was great with a 5spd. Had plenty of power and nothing. I mean nothing absorbs bumps like a Peugeot 505

I would pay big money for a 1991 SW8 if there are any left

Now that is cool. I remember in the early 80's, my Dad almost pulled the trigger on a new wagon. I recall the faux wood paneling in the cargo area and the funky French ergo dynamics.

It's got 143 000 km, about 90 000 miles. 2.2 liter gas turbo. 160 hp. Repainted 2 years ago, some service records.

I expect parts availability to be somewhat difficult, but since the entry price was very reasonable, even if I don't get to use the car for long it's not a big concern!

Funny you mention him, I spoke to him many times in the past months. Almost bought another 505 from Austin, Texas and he did a PPI for me. It was a nice car, with minor easy fix problems but could not agree on price with salesman, so that car still for sale.

Red face

My gawd those are butt ugly cars - I remember a colleague and attorney from Baton Rouge drove one of those in the early '90s over-the-road. He was perhaps one of the cheapest guys on the road in those days per expenses. They must have been economical for him to drive one. Good luck with it.

Ugly, I hope you don't think a Lincoln TC is good looking?!?!

Anyhow, to those with good taste - Here's a neat link with some discussion about the 505 vs the Alfa Milano.

Good pics of the 505 in action...

Please choose: Peugeot 505 or Alfa Romeo 75 (Milano) | . . .

It was on corvette country's website until 2 days ago. A 1986 505 STI, 5 speed, dark gray, leather interior, excellent condition, 110 000 miles. But it's not on their web site anymore, dont know if they sold it now. If still available and you are interested you can PM me and I'll give you the details of the PPI

That's a nice looking 505....

Although, I'd still take a clean 504 anyday if I could find one (with non-US bumpers).
