Waaaaaaaiting for the jetway to connect or waiting for a gate to open up is the most irritating part of the flight. Give me a 30-40 seater with stairs any day!
Keep in mind, it's Kona (KOA). Tourists getting off and on 767 or the interisland 717s with their carry ons isn't fast or easy. The humidity factor is also at play since there is no part of the check in, security or gates that are not open (except roofs) to the weather and noise of the airport.

I guess you folks are talking about airports, and I'm draggin' entire flight in/out into it.

OK, Airport only, least favorite. Miami. You get off the airplane and it instantly smells like a swamp. Like a cafeteria steam tray full of posterior.
You see, I actually ENJOY the free roller coaster with every flight into BUR or SNA. Especially with a cute seatmate

Miami airport in the dead of summer reminded me of what I would believe Cuba's airport to be. No one speaking English, and sultry subtropical humid air.

CDG for me. I was sitting in their (then) new terminal getting annoyed at all the dust on my dark suit. Three days later the roof collapsed. And you need 3 hours between flights to avoid missing a connection there.

Schipol has this chaotic passport control you must pass through if connecting from an intra-European to international flight. No orderly queues, just a crush of people. You have to immediately head for your outbound gate when it is first posted on the screens, otherwise you might not be able to get there in time.

Domestically I go for Miami. It does smell funny.

Kansas City has a surprisingly dumpy airport for a metro area of its size. Awful place to kill an hour waiting for your flight.

DIA - Who thinks it's a good idea to build multiple terminals, but the only car/bus/taxi access is to one of them, forcing all passengers to funnel through a single choke point. Plus it has that creepy horse sculpture.

I'm with SPD - Burbank is cool. It's Southern California; who needs jetways!

I used to live in San Diego. At the time the long term parking was a 10 minute walk from the gate. Loved it, but no longer the case.

Probably designed by the same architect as Dulles.

May be it has something to do with the fact that you seem to be such a peach to interact with?

There was once an airport in Roaring Springs, Texas, that was used by crop dusters and oil people. We could not land a jet there, but a two engine prop was OK.

It was a grass field with no tower or lights or really anything but a few old buildings. There was a caretaker because the runway doubled as a small golf course and before you could land you had to fly over and make sure all the flags had been pulled out of the holes. The caretaker mowed the grass and that was about it.

The flags were put in when someone wanted to play golf. Sometimes they forgot to take them out so we would radio the person who was to pick us up and ask them to remove the flags.

The airport is gone now, but a very nice golf course was built about two miles to the south. The Springs Ranch Golf Club I think it is called.

Haven't had that problem in NY, Boston, Bah Hahbah airfield, various CA airports, Chicago, Charlotte, Filthy-delphia, Orlando, Denver, London, Keflavik, quite a few other European countries, and Japan

I asked 2-3 people in Dallas airport for directions, and they acted like they were doing me a huge favor while mumbling something. Tried to buy a drink, and the dude gave the wrong change, twice. If that's Texan hospitality, I have a feeling I'd be better treated in Huntsville.

My biggest issue with Ohare, was the staff who were very aloof-non chalant about giving directions....got wrong directions twice, until finally steered in the right direction.
This is very irritateing when one has been cooped up on an over-seas flight for 12+ hours.

Casablanca was an interesting experiance

O'Hare by a longshot. Had my last installment last week. The only positive was the O'Hare Hilton.

The worst airport by far is the Lancaster International Airport. in the off season, it doubles as a corn field.

Doha, Qatar. Air temperature of 126*F, walk across the tarmac to a waiting bus (aka been sitting on the tarmac for who knows how long, engine off, no AC). Wait IN the bus for it to fill (thankfully quickly), then 3 minute ride to the terminal. Stand in line OUTSIDE the terminal for (thankfully quick) security check.

Once inside, admire all the lovely artist's conceptual drawings of the new, luxury laden international terminal that'll be done some day
