Brake lights and reverse lights are definitely working, but no cruise. Checked around by the pedal and found the kick down switch unplugged. So I plugged that in still no speedometer, also the found the plug you were talking about JamesDean and it was plugged in, I checked it and looks good. Where should I be looking next?

Checked plug seemed ok, I didn't take it apart just reseeded it. Also reseeded speed sensor on left rear of transmission. I found the kickdown switch unplugged under pedal though and plugged that back in didnt make any difference. Any other ideas?

I would get a meter and check the voltage output on the pin for the speed signal. I'm not sure which it is.. and you'll need to do it while the vehicle is moving.....

The 123's are mechanically driven by the speedometer cable.

The 126's are electrically driven by a small motor, whose speed, I assume, is varied by the speed signal coming off the transmission.

On the back of the cluster you will find a big connector.
Open the connector, the brown wire is the ground and the white is the sensor wire.

1. Remove the connector
2. test resistance between jack 3 (ground) and jack 5 (sensor wire) 2K ± 200 ohm
3. If you connect a mulitmeter (dc voltage) to those wires you should read a voltage when driving (30mls/h > 1 volt)

If the sensor works there is something wrong in the cluster.

You can also perform the same test as indicated by Rob at the cruise control connector since the sensor output is paralleled to it.

If you have one, you can put a multimeter with Hz(frequency) reporting and watch the frequency change as you speed up/slow down. I think around 25 Mph = 40-45 Hz or so.
