Interesting Ford Zephyr for sale- RI
came across this thing the other day if anyone is looking for the oddball euro-spec ford from the late 50s for a project.
Its located in woonsocket RI, and has no badging on it. I called the number and didn't reach the owner. The Fiance discovered what it was with an interesting smart phone application. She took the front pic, and put it through a filter, and the faded marks on the paint from the word Z-E-P-H-Y-R suddenly became clear as day. Apparently this is a zephyr mark 2 for English or Australian market imported to the US Ford Zephyr - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia quote- "Although the Ford Zephyr never saw American production, a very limited amount were imported into the U.S. and the name itself has appeared on other American Ford-related cars" I get a kick out of a ford sedan made for europe imported to the US. What I really like is the 50s style in a platform about the same size or smaller than the 123 I was driving. A lot of 50s cars are huge, this is something stashable

imaging that thing with a 60X series turbo diesel. just about the right size, and at 2500 lbs its well over 1000 lbs lighter than a typical MB. It would fly

Physically it sure does have 50's Ford genes though doesn't it? To me more than any other make, you can always spot a Ford. Not that that's necessarily a good thing....
