Try Eating Some Dates or Figs

You can find them if you look. Good for the gastro-intestinal tract. Eat them on one of your non-travel days.

audi is more common than bmw or mb.
some highway rest stops are scary-full of gypsies bathing in the restrooms

scooters are pretty popular
no lawn mower sightings so far
motor oil is expensive ....about $15 for a quart
they sell coolant premixed in different % mixes
cool gas station names...repsol, galp, centrec or something like that
i have not seen one w123 or w201 at all
eating out is expensive
tipping big is not expected. or tipping at all.

Try the prawns....supersized shrimp cooked in butter. Yummm! also try the potatoes cooked in olive oil and served with mayo instead of catsup.

Ulp! Why not enjoy some good food instead of mass-produced hormone-laden American CAFO garbage while you're there?

Most people abroad are sensible enough not to have a giant ocean of grass surrounding their house unless it has some productive purpose Who wants to be arsed to push a loud stinky mower around for hours?

I agree but apparently a lot of folks like the big lawn and like lots of mowing.

IIWY, I'd stay away from bullfights....gory, cruel holdovers from times past. almost as stupid as NFL Football...

The moment of truth is when the matador kills the bull with his sword. If he does it properly he must expose his groin to the bull's horn. If the bull tosses his head while making the fatal plunge the matadore, if gored by the razor sharp horn can bleed to death before any surgery could save him.

Thus the phrase, "moment of truth".

It is a ritual of real beauty especially if you take the time to appreciate the dangerous moments. A fighting bull leads a pampered life up til he arrives at the arena full of confidence and strength. up to 1400# of muscle and horns, extremely dangerous to the unskilled person. He has the chance to cover himself with glory and if the Matador fails to kill him he gets to retire to a life of ease.

If he loses he meets the same fate as all other domestic bovines, he graces the table.

Before going to a bull fight all Americans should be required to read Hemmingway's "Death in the afternoon".
