My Volvo coupe feels roomier and more open then the Range Rover Sport I occasionally drive, In spite what you would expect you will feel cramped in it and I'm only 6' tall .Interior parts feel cheap, cheaper then its bigger brother.

And be prepared to getting the finger from other motorist more then you're used to. The do handle really nice, not as spongy as other SUV's.

I personally dont like these new ones, but give me an old Defender with the iron horse 300Tdi engine.

That is a class of its own, very spartan, very rogue, very rough but will get you in very interesting places of the world. You might have to help a few Land Cruisers on the way too.

Difference is that this forum is filled with W123 and W124 owners, both of which have a well-deserved rep for being bulletproof. Less so with Range Rovers

I suspect that some people are going to be envious when you drive what is perceived to be a higher end car or bigger car. On my end, there is little to get used to since I assume people to be basically bad. I could drive my 99 E300 and people have an impression that it is an expensive car although it is just some old diesel with high miles that is confused with the latest loaded S class.

W123 and W124 cars are ancient history. Being bulletproof is an older paradigm and isn't quite as popular as it once was. I think we are in the throwaway generation with a few people left of the old generation.

Me, I prefer the newer cars with the creature comforts that the old ones lacked when it comes to my cars unless they are a specific purpose vehicle like say for hauling or racing.

I ALWAYS start out nice and signal. If push comes to shove, I'll shove. If I am in my truck, I switch to a smoke tune I had made for those occasions and proceed to blot out the sun with a huge black cloud. One of the few things I like about a diesel.

As far as cars, I disagree. There are still better and worse cars, and quality on average has improved. 100k miles used to be old; now 200k miles is routine. Average car on the road is over 11 years old -- remember when three-year-old cars used to show rust streaks?

Personally, I'd rather have something basic and solid, guess I'm still young enough that excessive creature comforts really don't matter much. More of a Subaru guy than an AMG aficionado. Don't know if that means I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body.
