Yup. Cheap thrills offer poor return on investment.

I built a bridge ported 13A with cheap assed used holly for a catherham. That little 200 horse rotary is a nice combination of high end power and light weight, for the price of a rebuilt kit and 6-7 hours of die grinding.

Expensive thrills are even worse. That said, I also need a Lotus.

I was thinking about a trick car, but instead I blew the money on a townhouse development site.
My G63AMG money is now dirt.

Eh, it is either hookers and blow or cheap thrills.
At least I have some ROI with the cheap thrills. ![]() ![]() Not to mention, tons of pretty cool stories!

Yes, yes you do.
You can pick one up now for the price of a new Honda! And they have enough ground clearance to make it down your driveway!

With your money. How about this. You will have to remove the fenders or they will be removed by themselves.
3-Rotor Race Engine Racing Beat currently has available for sale a very rare Peripherally Ported, Mazda Race 13G 3-Rotor engine in Racing Beat-engineered, single turbocharger configuration. The engine is a complete Racing Beat built package producing more than 1000 bhp at 8500 RPM with approximately 21 pounds of boost. Designed to run on methanol, thereby eliminating the need for an intercooler, the race engine package incorporates an EFI Systems Engine Management System supported by a Kinsler Fuel Injection gear-rotor mechanical fuel injection pump. As prepared by Racing Beat, the engine features a complete Peterson Fluid Systems 4-stage oil scavenging assembly. Additionally, the engine utilizes an HPD water pump mounted to a Racing Beat-designed, cast aluminum front cover. These race-proven Kinsler, Peterson, and HPD components are all Gilmer belt-driven peripherals. The turbo charger selected for this package is the AirResearch T18A90 series with the M-4 compressor wheel. As equipped by Racing Beat, the turbocharger features a TIAL Waste Gate modified to minimize boost spikes. Internally, the engine includes the following features: - All tension bolts fully "pinned" - Water jacket modification on all rotor housings - Iannetti Ceramic Apex Seals 3mm - 7.5 to 1 Low-compression ratio rotors, cast by Mazda Japan - Exhaust manifold - Inconel 625, including all bellows.

I say go for it. You could not come close to duplicating that car today for $25K. Caterham is the king of the 7 replicas. Most definitely not slow either. Will hold resale.

I knew a guy in high school whose brother had one of those, an original. If I remember correctly he'd bought some sort of kit and put it together hisself. You should buy it. You should definitely buy it and post picture after picture and then go out and drive it as fast as you possibly can.

I made a thread awhile back about blowing some money on a fun vehicle. A G63AMG came to mind.
Instead I traded that piece of dirt for another. No fun vehicle for awhile now.

You could do a less expensive fun vehicle. A guy I work with picked up a street-fightered GSXR-600 for a grand. Miatas in decent running order can be had in the four thousand dollar range.
