Shutdown weather

I can think of very few things the gov't. does more important than pay for our superb weather system; NOAA. No matter where you get your weather, it originates from the geeks at NOAA and their satellite models. They are working without pay right now. I read their discussions every day for various areas that affect the SW U.S. and Alaska is one of them. They put out two versions of this. This one first, then another one without the cryptography.

"Due to the Federal government shutdown,
NOAA.gov and most associated web sites
are unavailable.

Only web sites necessary to protect lives
and property will be maintained.

See Weather.gov for critical weather
information or contact USA.gov for more
information about the shutdown."

I use rapweather and haven't seen any change since the shutdown.

The NOAA.gov homepage is down with that message but National Weather Service is up and running fine. They just aren't getting paid.

They will get their back pay. Their work is life and death important and the folks that need to know that , DO know that.
