so, many of you have been around.

i have been involved in some pretty astonishing accidents. never did an engine fly out of the car.

and never was i incinerated.

recently, michael hastings' brother, jonathan, in an interview, attempts to characterize michael's accident as being "normal".

i think that you can find pictures of the accident scene. you tell me if that collision with palm site appears "normal".

i have been driving benzes since 1973. from a 220 to my current collection. as an engineer, i cannot imagine an engine ever flying out of a vehicle. or a driver being incinerated when the car is not incinerated.

any real journalist would research benz accidents. it is my assertion that no engine has ever flown out of a benz involved in an accident since 1973. let us think on that situation for a moment…do you think the TUV or the USDOT would ever approve a design where an engine would not be confined?

and do you think it at all possible where a driver could be so soaked in gasoline that he would be incinerated when the vehicle itself would not have burned to the ground?

that michael hastings' brother attempts to assert that his brother's death was a normal consequence informs me that mike's brother is all spooked up.

a good journalist should be researching mike hasting's driving record over the last decade. my guess is that there are no speeding citations. no dui citations. no other citations. mike hastings was not a scofflaw driver.

another aspect of this story that remains unexamined is what was mike hastings doing in a new c class benz. did he purchase it? or was it loaned to him?

c class benzes would never be my choice as a steed. what caused mike hastings to want one, purchase one?

lastly, the verdict is in from those who have studied computerized vehicles…they can be "hacked". control can be taken away from the driver.

i would close by saying that mike hastings either grew up in a "spooked" up family, or his family became "spooked".

another mystery is his wife. who was/is all "spooked" up. was it his wife who acquired that c class benz? and if so, from whom did she purchase it? a dealer in langley?

I just fell off the turnip truck. I didn't know who Mike Hastings was.
