Everybody knows that the Corvettes of that timeframe were rickety-azz in how they rode! Without question, they were freakin' rattletraps!

My '70s Corvette bought new was tighter and a much better ride than any of the MBs I've bought, 80s and Up, even from new.

Back to MBs, this CDI I own takes road irregularities worse than any MB I've owned, so MB's ride quality has dropped-off from what it was even from my W210.

I can only imagine how well the Corvette C5, C6 and now the new C7 ride as far as quality.

You are quite correct. I was not clear on this point, and it is an important one.

As I recall, the upgraded factory engine L82 Corvette I bought made 220 HP, and was marginally quicker than the last two MB turbodiesels I've owned. The 3-speed AT performed strong and flawlessly. I owned and drove the car for over 2 years, selling it for $300 less than I paid for it new. Try that with a new Mercedes-Benz in cost-to-drive factor during the same time period then, since then or now! Heh!
