the movie caddy

Behind the front seat was a cabinet for additional armament. The AR 15 was in there. George Hinckley was the agent in charge of it.

For that gun to have shot the president he would have had to (if he did not already have it out) get it out of the cabinet, stand up and fire over the windshield of the Caddy to hit JFK. I don't see how that could be done with nobody noticing it nor in the time frame involved. It would also show in the Zapruder film I believe.

It is an interesting theory and would be more in line with the way the bullet fragmented that hit the president's head.

If he was shot by an AR 15 I don't believe it was the one held by the Secret Service.
The caddy in the movie JFK was built/supplied by an old employer of mine. son of the home towns funeral home--And its currently up for sale at an auction-just saw it in the last Hagerty car mag.

Sure looks like the right rear of his skull is intact ala Zapruder. About 00:18

Besides, an autopsy wasn't done in Dallas according to the Reelz account.

Where'd his brain get to I wonder?

I have a mental image of techs in the morgue cleaning up. "We need to save this?" "What is it?" "Buncha goop looks to me like." "Naw, jest toss it".

Allegedly, the Secret Service took the brain from the doctor in Dallas because Bobby wanted it.
It has not been seen since.

The autopsy was performed in DC (Walter Reed, I think) under the CONTROL of the Secret Service. All photographs confiscated for, uhhh "safe keeping". They have not turned up, either.

I have seen it demonstrated by other people within the allotted time.

Take my Mauser 98K .30/06 as an example. Sometimes I can reload smoothly and quickly and sometimes I can't. It depends on how straight I push the bolt forward.

The 6.5 Carcano is not that uncommon. And not a very good piece, but it's cheap.

I gotta go with William of Oakham's opinion when dealing with this kind of evidence.

Mine is wonderfully sporterized, for a price. Very lightweight barrel and stock. But do not fire anything greater than 185 gr or you will wimper and cry in pain! About 150 gr is the hardest kick I can take. With 130 gr it's about like my .270. But more accurate. When I had good eyes and a stable hand. Now? Pffft.

Zapruder Film Slow Motion (HIGHER QUALITY) - YouTube
The Dr. at what was it Parkview did not do an autopsy but was describing what He saw. You would think a Doctor would at least qualified enough to which side of the Head He was viewing.

For Me the obvious is that the information is conflicting to the extent that I think We have been fed a lot of Officially put out Bull to purposely confuse the issue.
Apparently as time passes the story gets more twisted then made clear.

In School My 6th Grade Class and I were all watching this live on TV in School when Kennedy was killed. The dismissed us early after it happened.

When I was a Kid I liked President Kennedy but that has been soured now that I know more about Him and his Brother.
Both of the stepped on a lot of toes and made a lot of powerful Enemies. In that type of environment it makes it hard to believe that a "Hit" was done on the President by some crazy amateur.

Mine originally was in the military mode.....I had the bolt handle bent, fitted to a sporterized stock in the rough that I finished and so on. Was from a company called Herter's Inc.....(morphed into Cabela's)
I built it up..never really knew the barrel was pretty well shot out...LOL
Learning experience, I was 18.
Still have it.

Sorry for thread drift....

I was in 7th grade Science class @ about 1:30 est they announced it on the speakers.

I liked JFK too....he had some 'issues' but I still consider him one of the better Prezz's this century from a 13 yr old view at the time.

X2.
The last time I went shooting I had to drive over one hour to get to the range. Fired about 50 rounds through a reconditioned Military 1903A3 (I have a Recoil Pad for the Butt on a sort of Leather lace up sleeve that I made) and an unknown amount from SKS and another Rifle (that were cheaper to shoot).

All the time had trouble if I shot Standing or Kneeling due to lack of strength staying on Target and as you said about Vision problem.

Drove back home felling like I had beat on. I had not enjoyed shooting that day and I have not gone shooting Rifles since that time; at least 10 years ago.

And, then the local Hand Gun Range that was inexpensive and close by closed.
The local Deserts have so many People living in them you need to drive a long ways to Shoot.

Not much Joy left.

The comment concerned a "Mauser 98K .30/06". Not used in the Korean War and I have not read of any Mauser 98K chamberd for 30/06 used by any Military with the exception that the Israelis did some conversions to WWII Surplus Mausers.

I have seen at least one Picture of a Bolt Action 1903A something Sniper Rifle still being used in Korea.

At the beginning of the Korean War the North Koreans and the Chinese used all kinds of WWII Weapons left in the Country after WWII. That included the Nationalist Chinese made Mausers but not made in 30/60.
But, could have included 30/06 US Made Bolt Action Enfields and Springfields supplied under Lend Lease during WWII.

Herters! Dang, son. I have a Herter's rifle I bought in 1966. Chambered .270. They had two models, IIRC, a J and a U. I think mine is the J. Now I'm gonna have to look. Mine was completely finished. I think imported from Czechoslavakia. The action looks like a BSA. No doubt a complete ripoff. But it shoots nice.
