Stupidity, TSA....
I'm beginning to expect crap like this from TSA, but it doesn't make it any less stupid.....
![]() "TSA agents in St. Louis, Missouri, disarmed Rooster Monkburn, a cowboy sock monkey, of his two-inch toy gun after a woman brought the stuffed monkey through security. Agents said that it posed a threat because it could be confused for a real gun, according to local reports." TSA Seizes Sock Monkey's Toy Gun | National Review Online! |

I read that article and I think it's about as stupid as it gets to think you can bring a gun onto a plane. Did the stuffed monkey owner really believe that guns that are small can't kill, injure or scare people? Common sense says don't bring a gun on a plane- even a small one that appears to be a "prop" or "toy". TSA was correct in the confiscation.

Does anyone even make a functional revolver that's 2" long?(!) How small is small enough -- should toy soldiers with 1" rifles also be confiscated?
Yeah, I get that the TSA smurf erred on the side of caution, but really? |

Interesting. That trigger extender thing seems like asking to shoot yourself in the foot if you unholster it.

Found an article about the tiny revolver. It's real. However, with a 2 gr bullet at 400 fps, I have doubts as to whether it could even break skin.
World's smallest revolver doesn't have the world's smallest price I think U.S. aviation security went beyond ridiculous years ago and shows no signs of improving.

Has the sock monkey had proper training in plastic gun safety and a plastic gun background check? Those are the key points.

Monkeys, sock or otherwise, have notoriously bad trigger finger etiquette. Better safe than sorry.
