"I'm driver for 33 years, I was a professional driver for 20 years, but I have never drived such a good car as my YUGO. I find it very safe as well, for example once I had a crash with a truck with my Yugo with the speed of 230km/h (~145mph), what else can I say besides that both men in truck went to emergency hospital...one of them died and second is an invalid. Once when one Mercedes 600SEL hit me on the side with speed of 200km/h (125mph). I survived only thanks to my side air bags. Driver of the Mercedes died. Yugo is the car I would suggest to all of you who want fast, safe and comfortable car."

"I had to buy a car urgently then, after my VW was stolen. Cash-strapped, the Yugo was my only alternative. No, it is not the best car in the world, but I was never left stranded, and always got from A-B in one piece. I had an accident once, and beside some bruising, I was fine and the repairs didn`t cost that much either.

Those people trashing this car, you have a point, but if you wanted luxury and durability, why the hell didn`t you buy a Merc, so if you can`t live with it sell it, buy something else and stop complaining

Snibble the Yugo was doing fairly well over here a few years ago, until they found a dangerous fault on the righthand drive versions.To make them saleable over here they had to convert lefthanders to righthanders.Everything was done well except on the early models the levers for the brake came through the floor.Apparently all they did was cut the levers off flush with the floor and weld a plate over the hole.
Now when you're a passenger in a car who can drive,and you think the driver is braking a bit late you tend to involuntarily go for your own imaginery brake pedal right?Unfortunately due to a miscalculation on someones behalf this action was causing the brakes to be applied by the passenger as opposed to the driver!!Lead to some nasty accidents,after this people tended to lose faith in the cars.Bear
