Conclusions?

Countach = real man's sports car.
Aventador = glorified overweight Audi, with thlappy paddleth for thoth who can't drive thtick and the porky-pig weight of a Lincoln Continental...

Top Gear was shocked by the Aventador. Lambos are usually ready to turn on their drivers and kill them. They found the Aventador extremely civilized, and it was very fast around their track.

If I had the money I would gladly take either, unfortunately when my body shop had one in for a restoration I discovered I could not fit in the car. I'm 6'3" and sadly the Italians are prejudice against us tall folks. No idea if I'd fit in the Aventador. The Aventador is just beautiful in the same way a Countach was back when it was new. The sound is pretty sick as well. If I ever stumble upon $500k that I'm not using..... I'll get one in a heart beat.

I love the mention in the NYT article that the Aventador was "cat nip" but only to guys.

Guess I'm female then, because I'd prefer a Miata ... with a V-8 swap and turbo, please, thx. Or a rear-engine aircooled Porsche!

I think he should have also done a comparison of cost per mile in upkeep on the two.

Loved that. Sounds like the Countach wouldn't be a bad investment... about $150-200k for a good one right now.

2 options on the Countach.... $5000 for a Spoiler, and $7000 for the Alpine stereo.

I still have the iconic Countach Alpine poster.

Aventador doesn't excite me.

Didn't everyone drool over the Countach when they saw a pic? Never have seen one close up.

I am more impressed that he found a Countach that has not gone up in flames.

I thought it was the Miura that had that problem.
