I suppose there are variances for different localities, all the numbers I'm seeing are significantly less. My two rain gauges, over the last 24hrs, both show .3" I haven't talked to my father yet to see what his show. Weather.com's tally is .04" yesterday, estimated total in the last 24hrs is .06" Methinks some TV and radio weathermen are being a little sensational. NOAA is hoping for between .4" to .8" in the next 36hrs.

Rain in SoCal is nice and all, but we need rain, and more importantly snow, in the central and northern areas where storage and distribution facilities exist. reservoirs are very low.

We got a half inch or so since 1030. Doesn't appear to be snowing now.

Unusual winter in eastern Canada. Heating costs are up about 30 percent so far overall .No real extreme cold periods as usual. Just in general very low average temperatures.

Must be the global warming effect. March is reported to remain well below average as well. Actually thought to be the coldest winter overall in twenty years here.

80 degrees at 4:00 this afternoon in Kansas city. By midnight it had started snowing. 1-2 inches accumulation expected.

WTF?
