'Biggest dinosaur ever'

"Based on its huge thigh bones, it was 40m (130ft) long and 20m (65ft) tall.

Weighing in at 77 tonnes, it was as heavy as 14 African elephants, and seven tonnes heavier than the previous record holder, Argentinosaurus."

Gravity must have been it's biggest enemy.

Have you ever read anything to indicate why Dinosaurs were able go get so big and to a lesser extent some of the Mammals that were larger than they are now.

The only written explanation I have found was only speculation that Reptiles can continue to grow throughout their lifespan. But, beside not being a really good explanation that does not explain the Large Mammals that were once around.

The %O2 in the atmosphere was much higher than today. Insects were also much larger.

I believe the O2 issue buecause there is a lot of Mnerals that turned to oxides.
But, I have not read anything scientific saying that that is the case Kings grew big.

I was expecting someone to say that We had another Moon or Moons that something happend to that altered the Gravity on Earth.

Trivia note, primitives began to believe in giants when they discovered dino femurs and thought that surely the people with femurs like these were giants. I mean, I dunno, there may have been other myths to explain giants, I wasn't there.
