Sandy Hook "truther" denies tragedy

As the old saw says, "It takes all kinds."

I suppose if Ahmadinejad could disbelieve the Holocaust, this nutcase can disbelieve Sandy Hook. Hard to believe in either case.

Quote:
A Virginia man who claims the massacre of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook School in Connecticut never took place has been arrested after stolen memorial signs for two 7-year-old victims were found in his home, police said.

And this is relevant, how? In your mind, does this discredit all who disagree with you?

I have known some very odd people. This guy sounds like he could be one of them.

The term for these folks is 'delusional' and how and why they latch on to their delusion, and the lengths they go to in order to convince others, is a wonder to behold.

One guy I met claimed that flying saucers were the air force of a secret one world government operating out of bases deep within the Earth. The entrance and exit to their base was located at the North Pole. He even published a newsletter that reported on their activities and the weirdest part of all is that a lot of folks subscribed to it. This was in 1968.

The first Holocaust denier I met was in 1972 or thereabouts. They had even traveled to Germany and somehow into Poland to see the camps with their own eyes. They then declared the entire thing a giant fraud put together by the US and the Soviet Union to.... Well, they never did figure out why the two governments were doing this, but they knew they were behind this giant 'fraud'.

Jimmy Carter was a Cocaine dealer. This is considered a historical fact by a small segment of our population.

We are still fighting a war with Japan. The whole peace treaty deal on the USS Missouri was a Hollywood sham. Yes, it's true!

And the list goes on and on.........

You know some interesting people!
I's love to see a complete list of all these theories---just for information's sake.

Talking to weirdo's is a large part of what I do. Strange stories and oddballs are not normally, at least all by themselves, something you can build a plot around but if you get a bit from here and bit from there you can come up with a story that is commercial.

I was talking to a guy just tonight that claimed to have run 'black ops' in Viet-Nam. Some of what he said did not jibe with other stories I have picked up, but there was during the two hours of conversation about ten seconds that will find its' way into a plot under development.

There were things I shared with him that he told me were impossible. These were things I knew firsthand to be true so I asked him why he felt that way. He said he could not understand it so it could not be true. (This makes sense if you are talking to someone that lives in their own world, at least to them.)

There are only 36 different plot lines that sell, but there are thousands of variations of those. What really moves a story along, in the development sense, is to find a new hook to an old plot. Meeting and talking to strange people is a great way to do this as truth really is stranger than fiction.

A guy on another site presented a couple of Youtube vids purporting to show that the shooting in Santa Barbara is a hoax perpetrated by the anti-gun crowd. The notion is that the father of Chris Martinez is enjoying himself too much, that he's launching a political career. The store where his son was shot supposedly was in the process of replacing the shot out glass when police arrived, also mopping up blood like it was spilled soda:

I haven't watched these beyond 10 or 20 seconds, I list them merely as evidence of conspiracy lunacy.

Wow. It wouldn't surprise me to see that guy doing his own drive-by flameout sooner or later.

Thanks. Sounds like an interesting way to make a living.
Talking about the few number of plot lines--One of my new favorite old movies is " The Honey Pot" which is a retelling of the play, "Volpone", by Ben Johnson in 1606!

Do some research on Neil Bush and Silverado Savings and Loan. It is all there in the court documents.

I don't know where the coke dealers thing came from, but there are a lot of weird stories out there.

The one about Neil Bush and his S&L are documented and set the taxpayers back about $500,000,000 on the low side.

Steve Martin said he once almost abandoned a story because something like it had been done before until it was pointed out to him that A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum was based on Greek comedies from 2000 B.C.

And speaking of rehashing old stories.....

Shakespeare is considered to be a great writer, but books describing 'his' plays have been found that were printed 150 years before he was born.

Shakespeare was really a Producer. He would take plays that had been around for years and punch them up to make them sell tickets. And he never left any scripts behind because there were no copyright laws to protect him so everything was kept under lock and key.

The first publication of his works was done about seven years after he died. It is known as The First Folio.

Advertising flyers from his day have been found along with others from that era and they tout William Shakespeare's Production of........ This is important because you knew you were buying a ticket to his production and not someone else's and his were known to be the best produced versions ever seen.

And no one knows if he punched up the scripts or had a staff of writers. At the time no one cared.

Shakespeare's First Folio

Shakespeare's First Folio
And he was,...you know.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Do I ever know.

Show Business is filled with folks of all types but there are a lot of Gays. One well known English actor is said to have claimed there were so many Gays in the English theater he was worried it was mandatory.

But a lot of big name actors are Gay, as well as actresses, and the thought is they make such good actors since they spend much of their life pretending to be something they are not.

But no one in the business really cares. All that matters is how well your last project did in terms of money.

Sir Ian McKellen likes to joke that he sleeps on a 'Queen sized' mattress. Other actors make jokes like this in private but only McKellen is that public about it.
