Hey American geniuses with guns: Don't pherking cross the borders out of the USA. If you can't read a map or GPS, leave the ferking gun at home.

Being a marine or soldier of any sort shouldn't buy you a "get out of jail free card".

It's a foreign country with it's own gun laws. Has the U.S. ever given special favors to a veteran of the Mexican military when he or she broke our laws, just because he was a veteran?
Yeah, he screwed up and it's not intentional. In the U.S. we have "ignorance of the law is no excuse". In Mexico, there is often required proof that the accused INTENDED to break the law. The guy is going to walk eventually. Meantime, let him sweat a little. He won't miss his exit next time.

This one in Mexico has NO chance of oBraunschweiger getting him released - he's not Taliban like the dirtbag that can't remember how to speak English that joined the enemy.

From the story & "comments"

The Marine reservist, Andrew Tahmooressi, 25, who is from Weston, Fla., outside Miami, drove his black Ford F-150 pickup through the San Ysidro, Calif., border crossing into Tijuana on April 1, carrying his worldly possessions, including three U.S.-registered firearms.

Tahmooressi, who suffers from what his mother calls “directional dysfunction,” got lost near the border after dark. He and his family say he took a wrong turn into Mexico.

“I accidentally drove into Mexico with 3 guns, a rifle (AR-15), a .45 cal pistol and a 12 gauge pump shotgun with no intentions on being in Mexico or being involved in any criminal activity,” Tahmooressi wrote in a signed privacy waiver this week for the office of U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., a Marine veteran himself whose district is near the border.

some *comments*:

How do you go through a border crossing like that and not realize you're heading into Mexico?

I think the first thing I would ask, is why did he go to the VA in California when he lived in Florida. The next thing I woulde ask is if he has a brain disorder, how did he endup with so many firearms. You just don't drive into the San Ysidre check point by accident ... First, I think he can kiss his weapons good-bye, then the vehicle he was driving ... and a few years of his life. This guy needs a babysitter.

His mom called it "directional dysfunction," guess that is why he wanted to train to be an airline pilot. He almost had a career with Malaysian Airlines

He should have asked the president and attorney general to ship his firearms into Mexico for him. They have experience with that sort of thing.

Johnny Cash had a song along those lines:

you can take a wrong turn and cross a state border, but an international border? especially one like the Mexican/us border?

the idea that his story is he could do that by accident makes me more suspicious of his intentions. id like to see pics of the border crossing, maybe there was no way to back up or turn around or something.

Not at all. Problem is, there are far too many people these days with the opposite attitude. BECAUSE he's a GI, he's sub human, kind of attitude.

Is this anything like the attitude you have displayed relative to Bergdahl?
