Durn! Missed it Again

I haven't been to a Mercedesshop/Peachparts GTG in about seven years. They have one somewhere around Centerville, Tx every year. In the past years I always seem to have some family conflicting event. I was thinking it was in June or July. I just now checked and it was in May. Durn!

We need to have a nationwide GTG. I would really enjoy such an event. I would even enjoy visiting all those folks that hate my guts.

Any organizers among us?

How 'bout you? You could have a late summer or fall event there in TX. I seem to recall you having lots of land?

Here in the Northeast, we have Chad's awesome GTG in late August, (see the Events/Gatherings subforum), and then Curt Ludwig's GTG in Rhode Island in early fall.

If you want to make a road trip to PA, Chad's GTG is supposed to be awesome .

Was just in Texas for two weeks, thought about giving you a call.

If the picture is any indication, you were on the other end of the state, but if you're down here again, let me know and I'll try to meet you somewhere for a meal or cup of coffee.

To be honest, that would be nice.

I'm over a hundred miles from the nearest major airport and I don't think a campout would be right for a national GTG. I would think it would need to be near a major, somewhat centrally located airport.

Why? Do most people air freight their Mercedes to the get-togethers ? I thought the point was to drive the cars?

Larry, I would really enjoy meeting you in person.
But, I'm not one of the one's who hates your guts.

A nationwide would be super cool.

Lemme know if you're going to either, we might be able to ride share.

Will do. I'm really hoping to make Chad's and maybe Curt's too.

EDIT -- Although it wouldn't make much sense to ride-share to Curt's, since that's in RI. I'm probably going to Chad's, and I'd be happy to ride-share there if you think you can handle being in a car with me for about four hours each way . People have been known to contemplate suicide (or murder ) over less .

Oy, I meant to have another TX GTG since you missed the other one .

Tom W. is someone who comes to mind when trying to think of someone who'd be centrally located for a nationwide GTG. I wonder if a nationwide is something that should be planned at least a year or two in advance, as opposed to two months.

I'm thinking of a get together that would encourage people to attend regardless of their mode of transportation. Many people would only come a long distance by air. I would want to see people attend whether they fly, walk, ride a rented mule, or drive their great aunts 56 Rambler with a burnt valve.

Come one, come all.
