Don't relocate. We shoot them onsite. Have a live trap set out and pop them with a 22.
|
^as noted above, i can't use a .22 or anything that makes a lot of noise as they are in the 'burbs.
OTOH this might do: Amazon.com : HFC MAC11 Gas Airsoft SubMachinegun : Airsoft Rifles : Sports & Outdoors |
If you decide to trap and kill, but don't want to bother with a 55 gal drum of water, you can cover the trap with a plastic tarp or bag then run exhaust into it. They get sleepy forever. Probably more humane than shooting or drowning.
|
^If I wanted to trap them, I’d just make them watch old CSI episodes and they’d get bored to death in a couple of hours. :D

^I dunno, you may be right; otoh, from about 6' away they won’t mistake it as a back massage and being intelligent, they may get the hint after the first session.
|
Let us know how it turns out. My money's on the coons.
|
^If it fails, plan B is to put an old TV on the deck and run NCIS episodes on it. Mark Harmon is said to be deadly dull.

I simply feed mine,by hand.

They make high performance pellet guns that could do the job but they are pricey and loud. A .22 short is as quiet as that pellet gun. Even your typical ineffective pellet gun is pretty loud. If you shoot the coon with a toy pellet gun it will run to safety under your porch and plot how to get back at you. Joke, sort of, funny for us, not for you. You buy the trap and run it. Call someone to come get the coon when you trap one. Clean and effective but not free. Salmon flavored dog treats work really well. The stinkier the better. |
You will also be trapping cats and possum and what not.

peanut butter works like a charm on coons and doesn't interest cats
