I know where it comes from, but you have been referencing the constitution elsewhere. There is something to be said for consistency if you would care to abide by it.

I don't know about the hanging or the gas but I hope the electric chair does not come back. I have seen the real one from the State Prison here and just looking at it suggests a rather gruesome way to die. As burned up as the chair itself is I can just imagine what the guy riding old Sparky must have looked like when they were finished with him.

Almost everyone can relate to the injection method because a lot of folks have been put under for an operation. So they know what the guilty party is going through and it seems like the most humane way of all. I understand the killer did not give his victim a break, but we as a society are better than the murders, or at least we like to think so, so injection gives us a way to deal with executions in a way that we know the guilty will not suffer like their victims did.

But if the drugs are not there to use then it is time to go to plan B if a state want to execute people and there is no sense in doing a lot of hand wringing over it.

States need to come up with something that works and meets Constitutional guidelines. Can that really be so difficult?

Make them painless then bleed em out in a warm bath.

Bring back the guillotine. It was specifically designed to be efficient, effective and humane.
