Interesting and creative driver I did spy on my waywards onto yeh job one bright morn ,it caught my off guard because I was unsure of what I just witnessed ,sure enough as I pulled beside the young lady she was driving with her forearms while eating a bowl of cereal ,I was so wanting to honk my horn as she went in for the next bite ,and you guessed it ,the Miley Cyrius wrecking ball song was on and strong.

People who merge too early instead of zippering in, slowing down everybody else.

jake12tech 09-01-2014 04:56 PM

Anyone texts and drives.

Or idiots changing lanes without looking.

elchivito 09-01-2014 05:08 PM

Texting or calling while driving is the height of stupidity.
But basically what irks me the most is all these fools who decide they need to go someplace the same time I do. Jeezus don't they have JOBS or something?

Merging onto the interstate and the person behind you cuts across the solid lines and blocks your merge. At least the cops around here are starting to crack down on it.

I have an amazing 'blindness' for cars that do that....
Just sorta keep moving over slowly, in accordance with the painted lines.
They most always get outta the way, sometimes they even wave energetically, letting me know there is 1 more space....;)

Well, the most frustrating one is when people hit me :D. I've been hit twice since getting my license (never hit anyone, thank God).

-People who block intersections
-People who tailgate
-People who back up traffic by going slower than the flow
-Boy racer heroes driving ricers or Hellaflush VWs.
-People who try to make last-minute turns and stop up traffic instead of just continuing on and coming back around
-People who are driving inattentively (texting, phoning, sleeping, eating, flossing, etc.)
-People who vary their speed considerably
-People who sit in the middle of an intersection and then make a left on a yellow/red

This last one is actually how you are supposed to drive....
Enter the intersection when your light is green, and wait until you have a clear path to make the left turn. This clearly indicates your intention to other drivers, and makes your turn shorter and faster to complete.
All traffic must wait for the intersection to clear before progressing, and any traffic in the intersection waiting to turn must clear the intersection as soon as it is safe to do so, regardless of the color of the light.

One of the most misunderstood aspects of driving, and one that should really be better taught by driving schools/instructors.

Actually, in my state, its against the law to stop in intersections, you cant pull in and wait, , , , Well, your not supposed to, anyway.

Thank you so very much for clarifying this! :D

I was concerned that I was doing wrong because it wasn't just one person stating a difference. Guess the lack of knowledge explains this and the drivers I have had to deal with. Wonder why there is this lack?

Really?! Since when? I grew up in California, both my parents, and their parents do/did this, along with friends who all helped teach me to drive. I can see if you are being pushy, especially strait/right turn traffic, and going when there isn't room. I see that in California way more than Arizona.

I pretty much hate everyone when I'm driving. :P Pretty much all of the aforementioned habits would be on my full list.

These are my top 5:
  • Left lane squatters drive me bonkers and I don't even drive that fast.
  • Drivers who ignore the zipper merge and double up behind the car in front of them
  • Multi-lane changers back and forth without gaining
  • Tailgaters
  • High beam flashers (of the vehicular kind, aklim ;)

The one I can't stand is the driver who pulls out in front of me, causing me to hit the brakes-then turns off the road 45 seconds later, or drives 10 under causing me to slow way down. If you want to cut me off to drive fast, that's at least logical.

Don't try to insert logic into the equation! ;)

If not mentioned before:

1. The Me "first" types, the ones poking along in the right lane that all of a sudden speed up so that you can't pass, then as soon as you tuck in behind them, again, they slow down to a crawl.

2. the Turn-in stoppers, turn off of a road and then stop or slow to a near stop once they have turned in...into a parking lot, onto a cross road or whatever, kinda like they knew they had to turn but now what?

3. The insta-brakers. Do not realize that the Unimog they just cut off does not have the same braking capacity as them. In this particular example, Darwinism takes care of the problem, Mog 1, others 0 :D

Those are the folks who take getting passed personally.
