Driving habits that erk you from other drivers

You have to view some pretty bad drivers out their on the open roads ,which ones top your list. For me its the unpatient lane crowders who jump out of the lane to try to move up then crowd back into the lane they were just in.

I used to have a bumper sticker that said:

'Visualize using your turn signals'

When I would see that I would just say to myself, why don't they just get out of bed two minutes earlier. Along the same line, the driver that goes to the last two feet before a lane ends before cutting in while everyone else has been waiting single file for half a mile.

I really hate drivers who drive into the side of my one-ton truck because they are busy on the phone.

The jumping back and forth lanes thing is poor planning and in stop and go traffic, non productive for the most part.

Stopping on top of / past the _BIG WHITE STOP BAR_ at a traffic light. The bar is there to hold traffic back so others turning can make it past with something like a long trailer. If anyone here stops on / past the bar, please state your logic.

Don't be surprised if I place my car / truck microns from your front bumper as I turn.. .

I can see a Far Side sketch with the caption as follows ,The perpertual non movement of traffic was just a theory until resently ,know has respectfully been proven as fact.:) IThis was a laugh, recently I witnessed a driver behind the wheel of an auction bought cop car driving down the shoulder ,the aggrevated cars in traffic honked their horns as he passed , rocks dinging cars as he speed by,well ,fake cop meet a real one and as he was getting a ticket he got to hear it from the slow moving traffic as they passed by ,that was carma x 2.

When I was younger and my Dad said these words to me, I didn't really understand.....
Now it's so obvious.;)

Oh, this is easy, I drive a lot during the day so I have a good list:

Texting drivers (goes without saying)
Running red lights and stop signs.
Failure to signal.
Drivers who enter the Interstate and immediately shoot into the left lane and halt there.
Drivers who stay in the left lane until the last possible second before getting over to exit.
Left lane hogs who aren't passing anyone.
Drivers making a left turn at a light and won't get out into the intersection to wait when the light turns green, screwing over everyone behind them.
Drivers who stop 2+ car lengths behind the next car at a red light leaving a huge gap.
Drivers who start slowing down in the Interstate before exiting. That's what the DECELERATION RAMP is for!
Drivers who fail to reach highway speed before entering the Interstate. That's what the ACCELERATION RAMP is for!
Drivers who panic at the end of the ramp and slam on brakes.
Drivers who use the shoulder to advance to the right turn lane.
Drivers who signal and move over at the same time. The signal is a nice touch but it's asking permission, not a warning.
Drivers who see you signal to change lanes and then shoot ahead from behind to block you. Funny, there wasn't a car there when I signaled a second ago...
Tailgaters...

I'm sure there's more...

Fine, what about when the light is a solid green and waiting to make a left turn? Is there not enough time to make it through the intersection when the light changes? Seriously, I like to learn as my instructor was a failure.

I have had now two people not pull into the intersection to wait for their turn. Both times I didn't know they were going to do this so started rolling. The first time was at a light that I know does not function in a manner that allows the full lane to go, causing the next lane over to be blocked. Most folks seem to get this so get up and go when they have the arrow and then two get out in the intersection so the lane moves more rapidly. The fellow diddle dallied so he forced the long line to wait again. We got the green turn arrow the next time, he didn't go, I don't have a horn, so tried to show the way by snuggling a little closer when again he just sat there. Finally since he wouldn't move just went around him... Then yesterday I got flicked off because again I started rolling. This was all within a week, so now I see I need to wait until they move and not feel pressured by the fellow behind me.

Very good and helpful list!

So what if the deceleration/acceleration ramp is too short for the vehicle?

I leave a half to one car space in front of me a lot of times if it is reasonable. Two reasons: one is because the off ramp is blind so figure if I am hit I have more margin to stop (and instead of turning per the turn, straiten so more chance pushed in the median than into the vehicle in front) and this is the main reason, so when the light turns green I can get a head start so I don't get honked at for being slow. In my ticket class (passing a truck) it said pull up to where you can still see the vehicle in front's tires.

I also like the guy who swerves out to the yellow line to make a right turn....
Guess one needs to swing pretty wide to get that Civic around the corner....

Wonder if he's related to the guy who turns left from the break-down lane???

Well, the most frustrating one is when people hit me :D. I've been hit twice since getting my license (never hit anyone, thank God).

-People who block intersections
-People who tailgate
-People who back up traffic by going slower than the flow
-Boy racer heroes driving ricers or Hellaflush VWs.
-People who try to make last-minute turns and stop up traffic instead of just continuing on and coming back around
-People who are driving inattentively (texting, phoning, sleeping, eating, flossing, etc.)
-People who vary their speed considerably
-People who sit in the middle of an intersection and then make a left on a yellow/red
