S2k is cool, but they are still somewhat expensive.

I'm really thinking Z3 or MR2 because of what his price point looked like with the Miata.

All wrong but so close! I'd have gotten an s2k but the prices around here put most north of 22k, many over 25...which I think is a bit nuts.

Sky/Solstice? As I remember, the Sky is the better car but it has a fruitier name...

Dingdingding! Sky redline. It is just as fast as the 135 but is nimbler. But of course it is made of hard plastics so there are rattles and stuff, and as every reviewer under the sun points out, the top design is just plain weird. It isn't as cumbersome as they would make you think and to be honest its looks make up for it. 260hp stock (almost 350 with minimal add ons) in 3000lbs and a limited slip diff...so much fun!

It is a 5 speed, which is a pain in my commute but the explorer will be the fallback when my knee is ready to explode. I'll post some pictures after work.

Well I guess that disqualifies the Lada with the roof panel rusted off I was thinking of. Actually I never have owned or even driven a BMW. I have no reason either why this never occurred.

Brilliant car! Build quality is mediocre but for the price what do you expect. Definitely turns a lot of heads.

Had one on the lot. Post sale inspectors missed a water pump. Took one look at it and farmed it out elsewhere. Hope you never have to do one.

Good looking car.

Yikes...hope I don't see that aside from normal maintenance. Was it a redline or a NA 2.4? There is a ton of room around the engine to do work, one of the things that drew me to the car in the first place. Mechanically this seems to be in great condition, the only thing I've noticed is cosmetic things like the body panel fit is uh...questionable. I don't think its been in an accident, it's just wonky somehow.

If you get the chance, definitely try one! They are fantastic drivers' cars.

It was a redline, in red, just shy of 100k. 2 years ago at least. Don't remember what I paid for it.

That could be a problem. Then I might want one. I really have always had a fondness for cars that handle really well. BMWs reputation in that department proceeds them.

There are quite a few stashed about twenty miles away. For whatever reason many German nationals purchased large blocks of property there at one time.

I saw this as a place by them to easily move to if the need arose. Or the land was so cheap they could not pass it up.

Mostly old farms but concentrated german national ownership in that vicinity. Rumor has it there are a lot of cars of german origin siting in the barns there.

The owners initially came over once a year usually. Now very seldom. Their cars they brought originally here are still there apparently. Lots of BMW with a sprinkle of Mercedes.

These places are fundamentally inactive other than the hay cut by the area farmers. They have one german individual that overseas all the properties living locally. If you wanted to emigrate from Germany very quickly owning property here in eastern Canada then might make it very easy to get in.. As an investment not much upside would normally be expected from the properties in that area.

I did not want to think the worse of this situation but it is possible. What these individuals had as backgrounds basically. Many German war criminals at that time eventually landed up living out there lives in both the United States and Canada. This has been more or less verified as time moved along..
