Got a new toy
I got a new toy. An 80s vintage shopsmith.
For it I have a bunch of arbors, adapters and attachments, so I can: Lathe Drill press Table saw Jig saw Shaper Router Disc sander Drum sander Horizontal boring and more Any others on here have one?

My dad has one. He has had it ever since I can remember and I'm 48. That thing has been in use constantly as as far as I know it has never broken down.
A solid machine if ever there was one.

Very cool! My brother took my uncle's after he passed away, but I can't see him ever using it. I didn't have the room at the time. Now I'm trying to convince him to bring it here to work and leave it in the shop.

I inherited one from my dad. If the headstock/powerhead gizmo has a lot of play and slack it can be rebuilt - there is an ebay guy who exchanges them. I find the overall rigidity somewhat lacking, but I have gotten decent use out of the belt sander, the drill press, the disc sander, drum sander, and the lathe. Never used the table saw or jigsaw.
