Thumbs down Rejected...

I recently applied for a personalized license plate for my E420.

The plate reads: E420FAN

Two days ago I received a letter from the DMV stating that they rejected the plate configuration for it was offensive.

I looked at it several times and can't guess why it is offensive.

Can anybody clue me in ?

Code 4-20 would appear to be the Police code for smoking marijuana.Bear

I bet that's why

the numbers 4-20 are very indoctrinated into the pot smoking culture (because its rumored to be the police code although I don't think its accurate). Add an "E" to it (ecstasy) and you have more drug references that you ever intended. This makes me laugh cause you did it innocently... how hilarious

My first guess was that the guy at the DMV owns a BMW, and of course he will be offended.

But the drugs codes makes more sense... ! Anyone willing to fly high ?

My favorite license that plate I've seen is "QQQQ". Get it? It was recalled for being offensive several months after it was issued in Illinois.

the numbers 4, 2 and 0 add up to 6 and if your add two more 6's, you would get 666 and the minions at the DMV do not want it recognized that they actually serve Satan, so they shy away from that number to fuzzify their true identity.Consider that 55 mph was chosen for speed linits not 66.

Bill, don't feel bad -- it apparently took the state of Illinois a few months...

David,

Big difference between four Q and five Q .

EDIT: This actually belongs below David's post. Not sure what causes this, but David's post shows it's logged at 10:44, mine at 10:34 and I'm showing 10:35 as I type.

Red face

Ecuse the naitivity, and lack of desired thought to think about the QQQQQ meaning!

So please spill!

David.

Add the Q's.

Or as a fun way to figure it out. answer this...

Whats 2Q plus 2Q?

And heres another fun one...

Whats 5Q plus 5Q?

Too bad about the plate, Geez, did you even explain to them your car is an E420 model?

They must be pretty strict with their rules for this and go through it using every possible answer for the meaning.

Perhaps you can convince them still.

Someone in my highschool had the plate RPNBWLS

Now if that was allowed I'm sure yours could too.
