I bought an 86 500SE a couple of weeks ago at a good price. It needs the normal brake pads tires tune up ect. I have been driving my 74 240D and my
81 Sd for four years and love them dearly. I do not plan to drive the SE untill I have it in top shape and then probably will put very few miles on it per year as the SD is a fine car that gets 25 mph and 30 on hiway. Now I would like to hear from some other 500SE owners with any tip or commments
about this model. It's history is that it was brought from Germany by an Air Force General and still has military stickers on winshield. It has
American headlights, Euro front bumper I think( it has wide slots that won't fit American plates)the heater controls are in German, has mph speed O meter,sun roof, and a very well kept blue leather interior.I thought that most Euro MB's had cloth interiors? The owners manual is all in metric..... any thoughts would be helpfull to an old diesel head........
