He came yesterday and carried it away. The quickest car I have ever owned by far, though the Cobra will be quicker when traction is available. ...but not likely to be quicker around the autocross course.

I communicated with Bob and he had almost no time in the car prior to Nationals due two deaths in his family in the middle of the season. Three local events and a test and tune is all he ran before showing up at Nationals!

I have communicated with Bob a bit more. My mods to increase downforce apparently worked well for him. He actually had to adjust because he was getting too much front downforce. He beat the always formidable Mark Huffman who has the fastest Lotus Elan on the planet.

Bob and Patti won two more championships with my old Lotus! I think that makes 16 national wins for the car.

wooo hoooo!

Sorry , I was mistaken. Patti won, Bob finished third. ...and his co driver won first!

Still good for a woo hoo! ...and another woooo hoooo!

Today I bought a new battery for the Van Dieman. The old one was gel, five years old and shot. The new one is lithium....same power, 12# vs 3#. Also adjusted the belts so I can get in it by myself. Did some reading about how the digital dashboard works. About three thousand functions of which I just want water temp, oil press., tach, and if possible oil temp. I think I can time my laps and print out corner speeds etc.

Any how, all loaded up for an early morning drive to Colombus to run on the former air field, now cummins test track.

Woooo hoooo!

The car ran very well, no issues. A loose battery lead required an in field repair and later there was coolant coming out which was traced to a loose radiator cap. I had trouble getting all the belts hooked so ran with just the lap belts most of the time. I had some trouble on tight turns from lack of elbow room to turn the steering wheel. I may need to speed up the steering ratio. I gained confidence with the car as the day progressed. We had six runs I got in two cleanly.

I'm a lot slower than the car!

This weekend we're running at Grissom. I am looking forward to that. I'll be preparing the car tomorrow.

Woo hooooo!
