Bravo Shinola, Taking on Apple Watch
The fine print: Smart enough that you don't need to charge it at night, Smart enough that it will never need a software upgrade. Smart enough that version 1.0 won't need to be replaced next year, or in the many decades that follow. Built by the watchmakers of Detroit to last a lifetime or longer under the terms and conditions of the Shinola guarantee. |

I like those watches. Made in America too. Shinola also makes some cool as heck looking bicycles, if I was the biking type. Which I am decidedly, um, not.

From a business standpoint, not sure you'd want them assembled in midtown Manhattan, right?

Why Not Detroit?
Detroit has turned out to be a phenomenally successful decision. Clearly it's had tremendous issues and nobody should diminish all the challenges it has had. But it has turned out to be a fantastic operation. |

Reminds me of the old saying, "You don't know 5hit from Shinola".
I wish these watches had automatic movements.
