Ten years of support . . . Oh my, is that how long we'll be stuck with Windows?

So far so good. About normal. Fresh install and there are already updates.

Makes sense, since it's brand-new.

42 minutes from start to finish, including time needed to turn off all of the "send all yer data to our corporate overlords!" default settings.

So far (granted, just about an hour) so good.

Didn't lose my dual boot into Linux. I'm surprised.

Did lose my Solidworks, Open Office and antivirus installs. They are all there file-wise, I had to re-do the "set-up" programs for them.

I did a "new install" over a corrupted version of Windows7. It came out better than I was expecting.

Did the "upgrade" on my laptop. Other than taking twice as long as the "new" no problems.

MUCH better (so far) and a considerable bit faster than 7. Not quite Linux type speed but it's getting there.

Of course it's early yet.

The easiest (and only real) way to disable this crap is to create a local account, not use an M$ account to log into Windows. Otherwise, setting, wifi password, etc data will be pushed to the cloud, as well as being mutable by Microsoft.

You can still log in to the MS store (if you even need it) manually.

This is an interesting feature:

Windows 10 may share your Wi-Fi password with Facebook | Fox News

When Wi-Fi Sense is enabled, anyone you have in your Skype, Outlook or Hotmail contacts lists — and any of your Facebook friends — can be granted access to your Wi-Fi network as long as they're within range. Microsoft added this feature to save users' time and hassle, but as independent security blogger Brian Krebs put it, some security experts see it as "a disaster waiting to happen."

Lost all sound and could not get it to work. Had to get the 8.1 driver from ASUS.

Well, my screen is glitching into weird colors and being non-responsive. However, it generally comes back to life when I smack it, so I'm going to attribute that to a hardware issue... other than that, life with Win10 has been good so far.

EDIT: It's a hardware issue, and I'll have to send it out to get it fixed... fortunately, it's still under warranty.
