I would like to know if there is an AMG muffler available for a w126? How much of a boost would it give on my car?

I have heard (only heard, no experience) that AMG mufflers really don't do too much as far as sound or performance, or not enough to justify the grand or whatever they cost, and that it's more of a status thing. Am I right on this?

I'm sure there is but it is a matter of finding one. Amg parts for w126's are hard to find. just the muffler or the entire exhaust?

Cool... then maybe its not worth it. I will probably stay with the stock muffler.

Remus makes a muffler too, specifically for the W126..but it's expensive!! Around 7 or 8 hundred I think. Or you could just put a universal muffler on it, many people have done that. For me personally, I don't think the small performance difference will justify the cost and noise. There will most likely be less of a performance difference than switching from a hot day to a cold day, and then your car will be really loud. I guess it's just a matter of taste, some people want more sound.
