Well, that is nice. I'd like two knobs and a cd player as well.

Many radios today come with a remote control.
I drive through a lot of rural country and like to listen to talk radio to stay awake. The remote feature allows me to surf the AM band without taking my eyes off the road. |

Not the controls so much as putting in a disk. Not really an issue very often.

I've just installed a Kenwood plus four speakers in my 240D. I thought I'd get a decent unit, with an inbuilt CD (it also has a USB input which I've not used yet) and I wanted a unit with a volume wheel that you turn instead of buttons you push.
The Kenwood had good reviews and seemed to fit the bill. But I'm not happy with it. One problem is that as in keeping with all modern radio's it seems, the damm thing is a labyrinth of mode settings just to get to something as simple as a treble of base adjustment. And if you do get down thru the menus to find what setting you want you can't get back to something as simple as volume adjustment. In addition to which the location of the radio in a W123 means it's down lown in the center console and trying to read the settings with the radio way down there while driving is almost impossible. I'm sure it would be a bit better if it were installed higher up in the dash, as modern "infotainment" systems seem to be but it's a pain way down there. I guess what I'm saying is try to investigate as much about the thing before you buy, including just how simple or not it is to operate. Also, be aware that if you have the antenna functioning in your car it get's it's power from the radio thru the antenna switch on the center console. - Peter.

Yeah, it is a tough one. A lot of the modern radios have a zillion tiny buttons only a person with teenage vision could read. My wife's 2012 Mazda5 has a radio that generally works fairly nicely but I have never yet figured out how to adjust the balance or the treble vs bass etc.

Looks pretty nice. Can it be operated by the two knobs like an old timey one?
