Uh you do know the USPS uses no taxpayer money but actually generates money for the Fed?

I thought it was because our fearless leader held up a sign that read #Somali Pirates stop taking over our ships. Thats what put an end to them. Or they may have been afraid they would make him cry if they keep it up.

UPS, FedEX, etc. have taken a lot of the gravy from the USPS. What is left is delivery to people's house at address such as #13 Fools Holler Rd., Bum****, KY.

My niece and her husband moved to the big island in Hawaii recently to build some vacation housing. I diddled around and had to ship them a Christmas package at the last minute - the Post Office was packed, and then I gathered the 'if it fits, it ships' thing wouldn't get their til around new years so I went a block away to the UPS store (where I have a mailbox) and shipped it UPS for $80.

The 'if it fits, it ships' price would have been around $14 I think. Subsidized, perhaps.

we're more automated, they still hand sort alot of there stuff by hand, they lose money on the small stuff we make money on. Also they pay USPS to finish the last leg of delivery when they don't have enough to fill their trucks.

I read that the large contracting companies have ships offshore as floating armory's. They pick up and drop off what they need, and the armory ships dock in country's with friendly laws.

I suspect that, that has changed and the countries in that area are simply more accommodating of armed PMC's. Shipping is a very important$$$$ business in that area of the world.

That is all the few 'would be' managers tried to feed. Yet, I never felt the urge to promote them or defend them on the internet to justify being a coward.

Is that what they used to call an MPE? I worked at a Bulk Mail Center in the mid seventies. My job title was Electronic Technician. There was about a dozen of us as I recall. It was a PS-9. Do they still have those designations? There were probably 60 or 70, maybe more, MPE's as they called them at the time.

The odds changing of running into a very bad situation have perhaps been the primary reason for the decline. It is probable the Russians put the fear of god or allah into them as well.

I suspect they do not have the intelligence system of establishing just what is sailing out there beyond the horizon either.

Historically pirates die when they fail.

The floating armory idea makes sense. And also that nearby nations relaxed restrictions on PMCs on board.
