Is anyone using driving app called WAZE

I would highly recommend it. Went to ATL this past week and used the Waze navigation system while there. This was the first time I had ever used a navigation system and I am also quite impressed with that stuff too. It is a good app if you want to know the condition of the roads (backed up, wreck, police presence, etc...).

Not yet, but I've downloaded it to my Smart phone, but jjust don't think of it. I think I'll try it this morning going into and through Dallas, and see how I like it.

Yes, have used it for years -- great resource! Google maps also has a tie in with wave and reports accidents that are logged via the their system.

I use google maps and have been really impressed with the ability it has to help get around traffic snarls. Plus it has shown me about a dozen short cuts for common routes I use which I never knew of before. That has saved a good chunk of time on several occasions.

Found a link for Waze https://www.waze.com/ It appears to be an evolutionary step. Wonder if this will become popular enough so that people can retire the use of radar detectors?

Been using it for years. It's really handy in urban areas with lots of wade users. Gives you the fastest route based on current traffic conditions. Will even route you off the highway, aren't undo a backup, and then back onto the highway after you've gotten past the problem.

Waze was developed by an Israeli startup. Google purchased them for $1B a while back, hence the integration with google maps.

I hate the Waze interface; to cluttered and distracting. Apple maps is just awful. Google is king, clean interface, almost always right with traffic and short cuts. I drive so much in LA that I'm familiar with all the fast routes and I'm hardly ever in traffic. I use google as a guide when it gets bad, especially in West LA.

You can set the Waze app to declutter the map and navigation (I don't care for users or other items that are screened for in the map, except maybe for police, accidents, detours, etc).

Also from time to time, the sound setting allows a celebrity voice. This time it's Morgan Freeman.

Love it for finding police/hazards, but it isn't as good as google maps for directions. It likes back roads, could be a setting, but it is irritating. I override it when I know where I'm going.

Google maps works great for me.

In the last 3 months ive used it to find approximately 600 work survey locations and its been wrong only twice, which i find amazing.

Ill have to check out this waze application, but its hard to improve on nearly perfect

Couldn't get it to initiate the trip this morning running through downtown Dallas. Now I remember why I don't use it - it doesn't start when you bring it up on your smart phone.

Used my Google Maps as usual this morning when Waze wouldn't start the trip.

Google maps showed the route in it's entirety, and the slow down because of a wreck along the route. The map was colored RED in that slowdown area of the Interstate highway.

Google maps for me.

Previous Waze voices I've used were Jay Leno, C3PO (Anthony Daniels) and Terry Crews.
