i've had mine for about 2 yrs and it still works like a charm.
for 175 bucks how many gallons of water is that per month.

I guess maybe I'll buy one and try it out...at my house.

Yes. It has the dimensions of a 1/2 socket at the end of the SS flex line. If I remember, I will get you a picture of it. And yes, I was totally shocked that it actually worked because I wondered why the water did not work on the downstairs' toilet one morning, and my wife made me go and look under the house. And to my surprise, there was a tiny spray like mist of water shooting out of the PCV pipe leading to the downstairs' bathroom. It is all one piece or component.

No, it's part of the SS flex line.

The batteries needed make this unattractive to my situation.
