Wheels have arrived!!

I just got the wheels today, I am very pleased...

I will take pics and post them. I'm taking them to my mech tomorrow, putting them on, and driving my baby for an alignment. Then its off to the car wash, and a photoshoot. hehe

OF course the bumper is not fixed, but I'll take care of that soon enough.

I will soon know my entire reapir cost minus the bumper, and I will see what else I can do with the remaining money.

I had my mech do other work the car needed, and I am also replacing the cap and rotor, they are fried.

I already had neuspeed (H&R) springs I put in last year...

I am still going to get the shocks, but I'm trying to figure my total costs for getting the car back on the road first.

I know I'll have money left over, so I can do the shocks no problemo, I just want the car back first. hehe then I'll get the shocks.

Alon,

Great to hear your car is finally coming back together.

Man if I just recieved a new set of wheels I know I'd be going nuts to get them on my car and take it for a spin. I bet you can't wait to admire your cars new look!

By the way, see how everything worked out for the best.

it sure did work out for the best. I got the car fixed, I got lots of little things fixed, new brake fluid, new oil and filter, new flex discs front and rear, new distributor cap and rotor, and new fuel filter.

I will also get new shocks, so basically my car will be in very good mechanical shape. Apart from the front bumper, rear impact strip and sracth on the trunk lid. Which I will deal with. I hope some buffing will do the trick on the trunk lid.

There are the wheels, well one of them. The others are still wrapped up from shipping.

The look sooo good in person, I can't wait. I'm picking up the car, going for an alignment, then going to the car wash as the car has been sitting for weeks with no washing, then I'm detailing the car and waxing the hell out of it. I'll be pulling the front bumper cover, and working on cleaning it up as best I can so it looks ok.

In the words of Homer Simpson:

Hhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuunnnnnhhhhhh......whhheeeeeeeeels!

I remembered years ago deliberately trying to fry the alternator on my VW just so I could order the chromed unit! It eventually worked, and today, the old Bug still has the same chrome alternator!

We know you are doing what the rest of us do in a pinch...sabotage a component with the underlying plot to replace it anyway!

This is especially helpful if you are married...I have a burnt out turn signal indicator bulb in my W124 gauge cluster, and when I pull it out to fix, I will stealthily install some new white gauge faces as well (yeah, honey, the old gauges stopped working)...
