I'm so glad you two found each other.

I had Mohs surgery for basal cell carcinoma above my right upper lip. Doc takes a Sharpie out and makes a diamond pattern then hands me a mirror. "What's that?" "That's where I'm going to cut you" Oh. He leaves and the male nurse explains that in order to have a smooth surface after the surgery it had to be done that way. Straight cuts leave lumps. Ok. Before he sewed me back up, he cut right above my lip down to the corner of my mouth. I suppose to tug away any lumps after he filled the incision. Brilliant job.

Last fall I had a melanoma stage 1-B removed from left cheek. During office visit, that doc makes a circle about the size of a Susan B Anthony dollar on my cheek with a Sharpie. Told me the closing procedure was to tug up from the rear in a circular pattern to smooth out the skin. Can't tug down from the eye. Before the operation, he takes out the Sharpie again and shows the OR team where he will cut. Only this time he draws about a 4" arc back from the melanoma which was the line he used to close the incision after he was done removing the melanoma. Uhh, doc, you didn't explain that to me in the office. Looked like hell when he did it, but it's settled down & scar is fading some. Eh. It's all good.

For the Mohs surgery, yes. You have to be, because its a bit of a layering process while the cuts are examined with dye.........and the Doc runs a mill: "Please wait in the waiting area" after each "slice".

Mohs surgery - Mayo Clinic

For the melanoma cut & dig, I was out cold. From wheel in to surgery to wake up, a little over an hour. Total: In at 7:30 am; out by noon or so.

I saw a porno vid once. The guy realistically appeared to have two working Johnsons, inline. Who knows.

Not gonna report this to mods, but the racism offends me. I wish you would think a bit before posting. You could start with, "If I were black, what would I think of this post?"

I don't care if you ARE black. Or claim to be on the interwebs. I expect most black people would feel impugned by the post.

the main cause of racism is and most people dispute, goes back to the europeon slave auctions. Where they were stripped naked and examined like horses. The women gasped at the size of the male slaves organs. This made the white men angry, and hate has not stopped to this day.

Back to the surgery stuff....

I had eye surgery, on both eyes, and each time I was asked almost twenty times (I counted them the second time), "Now which eye is it we are working on?"

And then there was the marking, and the face covering with the hole to work through, and the repeated asking of my name. But when the doctor came in it was, "How do you pronounce your name?" I guess he wanted to see if I was nervous or able to respond to a simple question while still verifying he was in the right room.

A friend just had some open heart surgery. I was in the room when they came to take him away. They even asked me, who they didn't know, if the guy was the one they were supposed to be working on. They also asked him to describe what he was expecting them to do.

His description was a silly as you might expect from someone who spends their working life writing jokes. Eventually he had to calm down since it was clear this was serious. They did find his description funny, so on that level it gave them something to laugh about.
