Experinced it first hand in 1994 ,the dbl edged sword is once the lake gets high around the north side of town another tub of water gets dumped down river.Ive posted some acticles that follows how this business of beautiful full lakes vs secure water shed against flooding is being handled poorly.Botnst thread , Harvey v Houston

Just to add, many reservoirs are operated by USACE or BoR and are thus not under state control.

I have a cousin in Cypress, outside Houston. They lost power for a couple of hours during or shortly after landfall. Their streets are flooded and they are stranded but have power, cell and internet service and plenty of food and water.
She credits the whole family's intense praise of god during the storm for their good luck. I didn't ask her if she thought the thousands being rescued were godless sinners or something.

Prayers for those along the Gulf Coast go out of this house constantly.

I will be going down there once the weather clears such that the Civil Air Patrol can operate. It will be a very long term mission for the local groups and squadrons. We will be going for relatively short periods in order to give them a rest.

What does civil air patrol do in this type of situation?

the idea that hairie and -or ANY civil air defence 'patrol' is actually doing anything functional -flying over the place in an old rag winged Cessna , cracks me up.

The post 3 up........ he has said this spew plenty of times here, and that's probably what goes thru his head.
he trolls when Miami is once again flooded out in his perpetual denial trolling thread ~global warming, saying it wont happen - when he knows its currently happening.
