Lots of German License Plates on eBay right now

Just happened upon them, lots and lots of new Euro tags from the town of Böblingen. The seller has singles and doubles, most still have the "buy it now" feature. Check the link for a sample. Looks like several pages of them just waiting to be snapped up.

I even grabbed a single for the 4.5, should soon be sporting BB-AU-68 on the front bumper .

No personal interest, just felt like sharing.

Good idea...

...to sell the stuff from the trashbin of the registration office.

The inspection sticker is overdue since March.

At least they are really older plates. But they probably come of a junk-car.

Kind regards
Eberhard

Finally arrived.

The mail finally arrived from Germany today. Not sure what the hold up was, perhaps a U.S. Customs inspection or maybe even a DOD check (evidenced by a small hole in the package, perhaps for a boroscope check??).

The plate is a newer Euro plate, rather than the old style.

Nearly sundown when I took the shot, reflection from the flash nearly washes out the Euro blue band and stars, but looks pretty good. Looks like it was made for the car .

I'd get one, but Euro plates would look funny on an ML

So many questions...

The plate looks to be in excellent condition, nearly new but has just a little wear at the points where the license plate bracket made contact with the plate - like six small spots around the edge.

No, I probably won't try fitting one to the 560, I don't think it would look correct on the US bumper - I'd have to retrofit a Euro bumper. That is unless I can locate one of the Euro deliver plates, the oval ones. Yes, I too think the long Euro plate would look a bit off on the ML.

I was very surprised that several people from the office staff noticed the plate right away. Last people I'd expect to pay attention to such an item are the Admin folks, but they did. They had plenty of questions for me this morning.

Re: Lots of German License Plates on eBay right now

I just bought BB-E2883

Will I have any problems on a 94 e320 front bumper?

If so, I'll just put one on office wall and send one to my brother who just bought a new Golf TDI
