Steam. Low invasive prostate surgery.

https://www.urologysanantonio.com/bph-enlarged-prostate/rezum

Heard about this on NPR. They direct hot steam on the prostate through a catheter. This kills some of the cells and body absorbs them eventually. I occasionally have thought that I might need prostate reduction. Then it gets better, somewhat. I don't get it.

Getting old sucks. Try raw ginger with turmeric and peperine for bioavailability. Reduces body’s inflammation by a bunch

What I don't get is the way it comes and go. Saw palmetto with pygeum used to work pretty well and then seemed to lag in effectiveness. Then a couple of months ago during a bad flare up I bought a brand I previously used and it had a big effect, or sure seemed to. Not sure if placebo action was going on, somehow I doubt it.

I'll check that out, that sure what peperine is; on search they asked if I meant piperine.

I see these ads for catheters and think 'get thee behind me Satan.' Do NOT want to use catheters, never have. Once or twice I thought, whoops, here it come. But then it got better. So this lower invasion approach looks pretty good. Don't want to get impotent from surgery.

My bad. Piperine and Vitamin Shoppe carries BioPiperine 10mg. Tons of real studies on NIH website. Inflammation they claim is a primary reason why we age and consequently die. When I took my supplements religiously I did notice real results but they took about a month to kick in. Stop and the benefits went away it seemed overnight.

Inflammation. Yup. Got to avoid the foods and practices that bring it on. Dr. Weil is big on avoiding it. I need to keep studying the issue so as to keep reminding myself. I quit Haagen Das in no small part for that reason. That and I really want a flat tummy again. 15 to 20 pounds to go.

I get the impression it's fairly new. But dang, low invasive surgery is cost effective, usually, so if it's the real deal you'd think it will catch on.

I found this on the link in the OP:

Quote:
Is the Rezūm therapy covered by insurance?
Rezūm therapy is covered by most insurances to treat BPH.

If the Rezūm therapy is new, how do I know it’s safe?
The Rezūm therapy has undergone extensive clinical trials to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the treatment, and was approved by the FDA in late 2015.
Not complaining but, help me out here Tom. Any of us guys who might need this perhaps ought to research the hell out of it.

Oh hey, found this site:

Rezum Treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

They have a 'physician locator' link. Several in my area. Holy chit it would be great to find a big improvement in this. There are days while working I need to find a place to piss every half hour or so. Not good.

Add to that, word is that testosterone ultimately leads to enlarged prostate. So any improvement in testo production can potentially make my existing problem worse. Imagine being able to reset the prostate to, say, an age mid 20s size, and w/o the risks of the more intrusive surgical methods.

Exactly. About four or five years ago one of my bladder stones got caught and plugged my bladder outlet so I could not urinate. I had the stones all removed and decided against any of the methods that used cutting. The cutting methods all carry a high chance of incontenance and or impotence.

There was a method at that time called the gat goran method which was available in Isreal. For a mere $35,000 you could get a similar treatment to what you describe done but at that time not available here.

I seem pretty stable at the moment with three awakenings per night to go. Lately it seems worse. I'll be looking into this method. It sounds similar to the gat goran method. Thanks Carl!

Although I have not yet hit the pissing problems’ age, I would like to add that I would opt for supplements versus surgery no matter what unless it is truly medically necessary. I’ve put off multi level fusion or ADR of my cervical and lumbar spine through supplements and diet for four years. I’m convinced that the body is designed to fix itself if the proper scenario is set. The problem at least for me is once I feel better I stop. Plus lack of discipline. I’ve gotten to the point to truly realize it’s a life long commitment and required life style.

I agree, in principle, but if not for surgery I would be in a wheel chair with my joints which deteriorated. I have planned for old age my entire adult life and take no prescription medicine at present.

Three orgasms. Either you are way more of a stud than I or your right forearm, if you're a righty, is well developed. Jerking it is not good. My Zen teacher made that clear though I long suspected it was a net negative.

Saw palmetto used to work for me. Less and less so. One time I thought maybe I wasn't taking enough. So I started taking about six of the normal capsules a day. Developed serious dizzy spells. Would lie down and still felt the spinning. Not good. I read that Saw Palmetto in excess can lead to that. That must have been it. The dizzy spells stopped when I stopped. Still take it semi-regularly.

Yup. I want to avoid big pharma as much as possible thought I suspect one day I'll resort to a few of their products. On surgery, I don't like it either but my scoped rotator cuff surgery about 2 years ago has worked out well. I could see the torn tendons on the MRI. He said if I didn't get them successfully reattached, and within the 3 month window, in a few years I'd really be wanting an aritficial shoulder. My reading on those is scary. One of the least successful joint replacement procedures. They fail way too often. Imagine that. Then what? Crippled in that arm?

A buddy on another site recommended the medication he uses: alfuzosin. He told me about it in a PM titled 'I.P. Freely.' Said it worked really well but you need to use it from now on. Based on his story it made sense as he had a bladder issue from too much urine retention, had a painful scoped procedure up his urethra. He said every few months he needs to have a bic pen sized scope maneuvered up his urethra to look things over.

I've been tempted to go that route, not the bic pen thing, the medication, but have resisted. This steam thing might be the ticket. More research is needed.
