Is a sort of dark red, it appears burgundy on an overcast day, but when the sun hits it-it has a warm glow--a tinge of orange sort of comes out..

Im going to paint my GMC just the right red when i get the right code, with a dark graphite beltline coming down the grill.....

love your GMC.the only other one like that i have ever seen was in ontario calif.my mother in laws neighbor.

I somehow scored some wheels that I have been wanting someone to produce for yrs,


and as far as I know, they are a--- one off set, im the only guy on the planet with a billet alloy version of the 1930's General jumbo artillery wheels made by cleve-weld. So I now have more than one thing in common with Jay Leno, I got one of a kind machine carved billet recreation wheels.


for the 10th time-last Dec I typed aluminum billet artillery wheel into bing and searched, and bingo, like magic, what I had searched for yrs--was there IN AN ebay auction...............


an aluminum set of General Jumbos,, the perfect size for contemporary rubber 16x7. the perfect gm 4 3/4 bolt pattern................ how the phucc could this be? My luck does not run like this...... They were there for $399 f'nn dollars for christs sake, the guys ad description said he had Stockton wheels custom produce them for a custom rod he was building, they cost him $3000 to have made. and the offset was just not perfect, so I scored them for around 1/8 what he paid, best damn Christmas present ive ever got! I tried to get info from Stockton about them but the company was sold 8 yrs back, and the current owners don't really know much--about wheels--or anything, anyhow, whatever outfit Stockton had to wittle alloy wheels for them..... Someone out there has a cnc file for these wheels.

Mine has been disassembled for yrs but im gonna get motervated , because I want an old cruiser to roll in , I just got the rear tailgate with the early logo stamping last month, sorta retro rigged by a farmer with a torch and a crackle box, but I can make it come out nice looking.

the typical set of general Jumbos that come up go for $800 to $1000 and are 5" wide and the 6 lug whatever pattern, I still cant figure out how I lucked out-I wonder how long they had been listed before I snagged them...

Heres my latest old scrapmetal score, the old coddger who rigged it, zapped a couple vertical pieces of angle iron with his stick welder, after cutting them out with a 4.5 oxide cutoff wheel on the grinder I already knew there was gonna be waves, so I have to brush up on a little metal shrinking, one thing I know--- "shrinking hammers" are just gimmics, so I have to raise my skill level at localized metal moving with .... a rosebud tip on a torch set, using the flame to bring the metal back twards the flame, and also a little tap work to help get it back to zero, the guy welded a pipe across the bottom--with another full length pipe the next size smaller inside-with angle brackets on the ends and then just welded the whole thing in place instead of the bolt on trunion's. He did not do that bad a job --but the pipe in pipe hinge is rusted in place so I have to soak the bottom in diesel/and other oil to try to get it penetrated.so I can bust it free.
