Maybe a two tiered system is needed, those who only cry and call names, get a slap on the wrist before those who participate on other forums.

BTW I have also thought, I should really post what I think of a few of the whiners here in order to get a time-out as I have a lot of other things to do that are more useful than this
I would make the argument that if trolling is being tolerated intentionally to promote sales, the business needs to examine its viability. If it’s unintensional, it’s a poor reflection on management.

Open carry etiquette

So is it polite to bring a gun open carry into someones home without asking first?

We are having a bd party for my grandson today and his uncle who I barely know from the other side showed up with a pistol on his belt.

Some of the nicest people I ever met were on a firing range. I think this is because we all knew we could shoot the crap out of each other...No, it’s not polite, but he’s armed and may have a few wing nuts that need to be tightened, so I would not bring it up.

P.S.: Avoid making any small penis jokes in his presence, as they may hit a little too close to home...

Well it turns out he is a deputy Sheriff, but still it seems polite to ask. I noticed a while ago he put on a jacket that hides the gun. I wondered if someone asked him to do so.

Probably. He deserves a pass under the circumstances.

It’s not a scolding; it’s just that (4) some reason, he suddenly feels that we need to have more clarity regarding the (4)um rules...

As it is, the vilest contributors to the r&p board are not contributors to any of the more relelevant discussions on the tech boards. Many don’t own cars that pp supplies, I suspect that some could afford a car of any sort. As the recent influx of BMW refugees demonstrates, it’s no trick to attract political discussions. Is pp a political echo room or a parts dealer? How much of that cr p do they agree with, and do they profit in some way? The board has to make business sense.
I disagree. The only reason I purchase from PP is because I am here using the forums. Were it not for this place, I wold probably go to the dealer and use my MBUSA discount or various other web sites. I bought $500 worth of brake parts for my GLK earlier in the year and intentionally got them here even thought I could have purchased them for a bit less elsewhere.

A thread about rules has become a that to you?

Your posts were flagged for against the rules content and you were banned. You broke the forum rules, and now it’s your contention that the rules are clear ?
Others posted in a different thread they didn’t understand why you were banned “from one side” as if bans should reflect political views. That’s not how the rules here work. A discussion of rules is just that.

Yes, feigning ignorance of the rules does not cut it. You seem to be just baiting people.

Baiting people, How so? A discussion about rules is "baiting" to you? That's strange view IMHO.

In the thread in P&R folks clearly do not understand how the rules/warning/infraction system works. Some suggested that since PC and DM are on the "left" then some on the "right" should be banned as well. As a former moderator you know that's not how it works. PC himself suggested that the fault of his ban was someone else- not the content of his own posts.
After so many infractions a ban is (or was) implemented until the infraction count is below the ban limit. Infractions last 6 month long IIRC.
