Benz,
I have heard Lewis interviewed and he seems like an intelligent, well spoken, and a gentle man.

only reason Tyson is still fighting is because he is millions of dollars in debt. if you are a true afficionado you would have seen how Tyson's fighting style just deteriorated to brawling after he fired Kevin Rooney. i was in awe when i saw Tyson do 5 punch combinations with the speed of a welterweight, but with many times the power. this is what Rooney had him doing, literally by the numbers as the combinations were called out by their number. after losing all that he wasn't much of a brawler either, evidenced by his two fights with Holyfield...

Howdy Ed,
I don't think there are any fighters "crummy" enough for Tyson to beat up on. Hell I think Robin thinks she has a shot at taking him out ![]()

Perhaps Don King or some other promoter can offer Tyson $20 million to beat up and rape women in the ring -- it's something he has a lot of experience with... Hopefully this piece of garbage will fade from the public eye now, so he can live out the rest of his life in prison where he belongs.

ooooooooooooh GermanStar is full of hate. If only people would know what kind of history Tyson went through his life, people might look at him in a different way. Not saying it would explain the rape and ear biting incidents, but would give an indication as to why he has mental issues.

Tyson's boxing skills have TANKED big time, I agree that he was only in it for the money and not for the sport. His brawling did not work on Lewis. Didn't look like he was prepared. The anti-depressants could have slowed him down or messed with his stamina also. I don't think he is getting old just yet. What happened to Tyson could happen to anyone. Moral of story: Do your best to NOT let people change who you are or who you want to be and become bitter. The guy is mad at the world.

Snibble,
I hope not!!! Tyson is not the Tyson I used to watch. He's done and should take his millions and invest wisely. He should hope that people remember him for what he was, not a boxer, but the most fearce fighter of all time. A flurry of punches that made him the Demolition Man, remember the fights that ended in 45sec.... GermanStar, You obviously don't know anything about the injustice that lead Tyson to where he is today, and in fact has been for several years. Sending him to prison on the word of that Givens hoochie ruined him as a fighter, he never recovered. Before that, there was no one more "watchable" in the ring than Mike Tyson. Sometimes people are not totally responsible for what they become, there is an environment at work! Last night I watched a Tyson who no longer belongs in the ring, it was sad for to watch, really. As much as I wanted him to win simply for a comeback of sorts, now I wish him well in retirement. Rgds, Ed

ML Dude --
I don't care what caused him to become the animal that he is, nor do I care about Jeffrery Dahmer's background, nor Osama Bin Laden's. The simple fact is that if you rape people, eat people, or blow up people, you need to be put out of your misery. Ron German Star Last edited by GermanStar; 06-09-2002 at 06:49 PM. |

That was probaby the worst fight I have ever seen. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay to watch. Tyson just absolutely sucked and Lewis wasn't much better. The fight was so bad that my friend pulled out an old Ali/ Frazier tape, "Thriller in Manilla." These two real boxers beat the crap out of each other for 14 rounds. Frazier's doctor called the fight before the 15th round started and Ali collapsed from exhaustion after the match was over.
It's very ironic that Ali and Frazier were about the same age as Tyson and Lewis are now when the fight took place. I don't think that Tyson or Lewis would have lasted 5 rounds at the pace this match was fought at. A spectacular match that was!

ML Dude,
I'm not even a boxing fan, but I can't resist giving my 2 cents worth on this subject. I have to agree with German Star on this one...There's NO excuse for Tyson's behavior in recent years. Eveyone's had some sort of "injustice" or some bad things happen in their "environment", as you say, but you don't see everyone biting people's ears off, fighting and cursing at news conferences, etc., and just acting like a complete meathead as Tyson does. We make our own choices, and excluding any mental or physical handicaps that cannot be overcome, we ARE totally responsible for what we become! He is what he is today as a result of HIS choices, just as all of us are. I don't buy that "oh, he's had a tough life" crap. What ever happened to being RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS? I guess that's too much to ask, considering the "blame everyone but yourself" mentality that has taken over our society. Everyone thinks they're a damn victim. It's bull****. OK, I feel better now. ![]() Mike

German star and Mikemover got it right. People with the attitude of Tyson need to get out of the victimization kick and begin taking responsibility for their own actions. I am not condemning Tyson, just his actions of which HE IS responsible for.. You would probably change your mind real quick if he did one of those things to a relative of yours. It's not OK to rape, bully and beat someone up just because you didn't get your way in life. Besides, the guy just earned a couple million dollars NET! That's plenty of money to at least get away from people who are bringing you down or at least buy a Doctor Phil book or something and make an effort at getting your life together. I would be great to see the guy turn around though.

I agree that he should take responcibility and he is. That 20mil net is shared between promoters and "higher" people in the boxing mafia organization.
