300sl 5-speed

Does any one out there know how many 5-speed 300sl r129s were made for the U.S. market? Thinking about it for next summer. thanks.

I can't find a reference for this question. Best I can do is for the total worldwide production of the 300SL-24 (all types of transmissions), was 26,984. This is the type that was produced from 3/89 to 6/93, the type you could get the 5 spd manual in. After that they were called the SL320, and was automatic only.
